About the job

Are you passionate about the specialized social field – and are you a bit of a night owl?

We are seeking engaged night workers for Rosenholm, where we every night ensure safe and predictable surroundings for adults with developmental disabilities.

Do you thrive in night hours, take responsibility, and value professionalism and good collaboration? Then you could be one of our new colleagues in the night team.

Who are we?

Rosenholm is a 24/7 social-pedagogical offer under the Municipality of Herning. Here live 48 adults with developmental disabilities and some additional diagnoses distributed over six departments. In addition, we have both a day service and a respite care service.

We are looking for new colleagues to a night team that we are in the process of building. As a night guard you therefore not only have an important role around the citizens. You also have the opportunity to help shape the team’s structure, culture and collaboration.

We want a multidisciplinary team and therefore also welcome you with a social- or health-related background. The most important for us is that you want to bring your professionality into play and at the same time are curious about your colleagues' perspectives.

You are always at work with a colleague. Together you must ensure calm, safety and continuity for the citizens through the night.

What can a night shift look like?

“I start the night shift by getting handover from the evening shifts, so I know what has been important during the day. We have a particular focus on citizens who, for example, have changed behaviour, are restless or ill.

Thereafter I may help a citizen to bed. For some it is important to see who is working at night before they can find rest.

During the night the tasks vary. Some residents wake up and need support to find calm and fall asleep again. Others need to be settled or receive help with personal care. Some residents require medicine or other health-related support during the night.

Some nights there is also time for practical tasks. Other nights residents need more of us. Some tasks we handle independently, while others require that we are two. Therefore it is important that we know each other and help each other.

We document relevant observations and interventions in our journals system, so our colleagues know what has happened during the night.

When day staff arrive in the morning, I give handover. Here we can, together with our health care colleagues, discuss observations and issues from the night and decide if something needs follow-up.”

What do we offer?

With us you get

  • A meaningful job , where your contribution makes a difference to the citizens’ safety, even when the rest of the house is asleep.
  • Opportunity to make your mark on a night team in development , where together we will develop good working and collaboration forms.
  • Fixed night shifts with focus on professionalism, collaboration, trust and well-being.
  • Professional sparring and development opportunities in an environment where relationships, responsibility and decency are highly valued.
  • Thorough onboarding , so you are well prepared for both the citizen-facing, health-related and practical tasks.

Who are you?

We imagine that you

  • have an appreciative and respectful approach to citizens, relatives and colleagues.
  • work in an engaged and responsible manner and can reflect on your own professional practice.
  • have experience with, or desire to learn about, people with developmental disabilities and complex support needs.
  • can work independently and keep an overview at night, while at the same time seeing collaboration with your colleagues as an important part of the task.
  • wish to actively contribute to a good work community, both in the night team and across the 24 hours.
  • are prepared to be trained in, among other things, personal care and medication handling.
  • can offer a calm nervous system to a resident who is unsettled or struggling
  • would like to help develop a new team and contribute constructively to the culture we create together.
  • We are about 100 permanent staff at Rosenholm and you will become part of a team of 6
