About the job
Do you want to use your nursing professionalism close to the residents and help create a dignified and meaningful everyday life?
Do you want to make a difference for people where professionalism, presence and relationships go hand in hand? Are you passionate about citizen-centered nursing care, and do you have an interest in geriatrics, complex somatic issues and interdisciplinary collaboration? Then maybe you are the one we are looking for as our new nurse at Fjordnæs at Hundested Care Center.
Welcome to Fjordnæs
At Fjordnæs, our most important task is to create the framework for our residents to live a good, safe and dignified life – based on each individual person’s wishes, habits and needs.
We work from a person-centered approach, where we start from the individual person’s life history, values, wishes and resources. We respect the residents’ self-determination and believe that all people should have the opportunity to live a life with influence on their own daily life – even when they need help and support.
For us, good care is not only about solving a task, but about understanding the person behind it. We want to create a daily life where residents experience quality of life, participation, safety and dignity.
Our residents have different needs, and several live with complex somatic diseases and cognitive challenges that require a qualified health professional input. This places demands on our professional competence, clinical perspective and ability to collaborate across professional groups.
You will become part of an engaged staff group where we help each other, share our knowledge and take joint responsibility for the quality of care. We value a good collegial community, professional sparring and a daily life where there is room for professional ambitions, humor and presence.
About the position
As a nurse at Fjordnæs you will be part of daily practice and actively participate in the holistic care around the residents. You will work closely with your SSA colleagues and other staff, where you together take responsibility for creating safe, coherent and professionally grounded pathways for the residents.
You will have the opportunity to bring your entire nursing expertise into play in the many different situations that arise in daily life – from basic nursing to assessment and management of complex and acute problems.
You will have close collaboration with our nursing home doctor who visits regularly, where you discuss residents’ health, treatment and any changes in their condition. Here you contribute with your clinical observations and nursing professional assessments.
We believe that professional development happens close to practice. Therefore, we want a nurse who is keen to share their knowledge and support colleagues’ professionalism in daily life. This can be through mentoring, guidance and teaching in connection with concrete care and treatment tasks. It is about creating learning where it makes sense – with the residents.
Your tasks will include among others
- To perform citizen-centered nursing with a basis in person-centered care, residents’ self-determination and holistic care.
- To base care and treatment on residents’ life history, wishes, habits and resources.
- To identify and assess nursing needs through systematic nursing assessments, observations and relevant screening tools.
- To work systematically with early detection and triage.
- To observe, assess and act on changes in residents’ health status.
- To provide nursing care in complex and unstable resident pathways and ensure timely action and follow-up.
- To maintain close collaboration with the nursing home physician and contribute with nursing observations and assessments.
- To be a visible professional sparring partner for your SSA colleagues and other staff.
- To support colleagues’ competencies through mentoring, guidance and teaching in daily practice.
- To actively use clinical guidelines, VAR and local instructions in care and treatment.
- To plan and perform nursing for residents with palliative needs.
- To collaborate with residents, relatives, physician, hospital and other relevant partners.
- To ensure relevant nursing documentation and follow-up.
We are looking for someone who
- Is trained as a nurse and wants to work in the elderly care sector.
- Also has experience with or an interest in geriatrics and complex somatic issues.

- Works person-centered and respects the individual’s wishes, values and self-determination.
- Thrives being close to residents and actively participates in daily care.
- Wants to take professional responsibility and be a visible nursing resource for colleagues.
- Is willing to share knowledge, guide and teach colleagues in everyday concrete situations.
- Can communicate their professionalism in an appreciative and practice-oriented way.
- Works independently and in a structured way and can prioritize in a daily life where tasks may change.
- Has an empathetic and respectful approach to residents, relatives and colleagues.
- Thrives in close interdisciplinary collaboration and sees the value in lifting tasks together.
- Wants to engage in the collegial community.
The most important thing is not that you can do everything from day one, but that you want to bring your professionalism into play, share your knowledge and develop with us.
We offer
- A meaningful position where you come close to the residents and have the opportunity to make a noticeable difference.
- A workplace where person-centered care, self-determination and respect for the individual are fundamental values.
