About the ward

Psychiatric Ward 1 has a specialty in the treatment of affective disorders. The majority of our patients are admitted with depression or bipolar disorder, but we also receive patients with, among other things, anxiety and stress reactions.

We are a restricted ward with 14 beds for adults over 18. Treatment includes, among other things, diagnostic assessment, medical treatment, conversations, environmental therapy, ECT and Safewards and takes its starting point in cognitive and environmental-therapeutic principles. At the same time we work with Fundamentals of Care as the framework for nursing, where the patient is met as a whole person.

Patients are often admitted during a period characterized by significant mental strain, and therefore the work requires both professional expertise, relationship skills and the ability to create calm and overview.

We collaborate with the individual patient to offer targeted treatment during admission and ensure good transitions at discharge. An important part of the work is therefore to create safety, continuity and structure, among other things through a contact person function, relationship work and interdisciplinary collaboration.

We are facing an internal reorganisation, where we will have to receive patients directly into the ward from January 2027.

We have close collaboration with the other wards and clinics in Psychiatry as well as with municipal services in Viborg, Skive and Silkeborg municipalities. In addition, we work closely with the Clinic for ECT and TMS regarding patient pathways and treatment.

• Is a licensed nurse
• Is actively reflective and positively participating in the ward's development and improvement work
• Wants to work with psychiatric nursing and treatment

• Meets patients, relatives and colleagues with respect and fairness
• Has an interest in relationship formation as an important part of the treatment
• Experience from psychiatry is an advantage, but not a prerequisite.

Salary and employment terms are in accordance with the applicable collective agreement in the field.
