About the job
Make a difference that is felt – become a nurse in the Elderly Disease inpatient ward.
How will the health care of the future look? We believe it is built on strong professional communities, interdisciplinary collaboration and nurses who see the whole person – not just the disease.
At the Elderly Disease inpatient ward at Zealand University Hospital you will be part of a specialty where complex nursing, clinical assessments and close relationships go hand in hand. Here we work with some of the hospital's most complex patients, and precisely for this reason nursing is decisive. We help create coherent patient pathways across hospital, municipality and general practice, because we know that good treatment does not stop at the hospital door.
We are looking for nurses who want to become part of a strong professional environment where development, collaboration and the patient are always in focus. With us you make a difference.
A specialty with high professionalism and great meaning
The geriatric patient rarely has one diagnosis. Often illness, loss of function, medical issues and social factors are closely connected. Therefore the work requires both clinical overview, professional curiosity and the ability to create security in complex situations.
With us we work from Fundamentals of Care , because we believe that high quality in nursing is about combining clinical expertise with presence, relationships and a holistic approach to the patient. We also receive phase 2 stroke patients from Roskilde, which provides exciting patient pathways and close interdisciplinary collaboration with therapists, speech therapists and doctors.
You become part of a community that develops together
We believe the best solutions are created in collaboration. Therefore you will become part of an engaged team of nurses, social- and health care assistants, doctors, therapists and dietitians, where we actively use each other’s competencies and help each other in everyday life.
At the same time we know that a good start is crucial. Therefore you will receive an individually tailored onboarding process, where we base it on your experience and your development needs. Whether you come with many years of experience or are newly graduated, we ensure that you are well prepared for the task.
We invest in your development
We want you to develop with us. Therefore we prioritize teaching, competence development, supervision and annual Skills training, so you continuously strengthen your clinical competencies and have the opportunity to develop within geriatric nursing. We place great emphasis on our community through various social arrangements – such as DHL, Sydhavsstafetten and joint Christmas lunch.
At the same time we know that a good work-life balance is also important. Therefore we plan working hours in dialogue with the individual and offer flexible shift forms, taking into account both operations and private life.
The position is 32-37 hours with employment in two shifts. You can choose between
- every 2nd weekend in 8-hour shifts or
- alternating every 2nd and every 4th weekend
- Possibility of 12-hour shifts
If you would like to talk to a future colleague, and hear what it is like to work in Elderly Disease, please call us and we will connect you with one of our skilled staff.
Interviews are held on an ongoing basis.
"We do not just treat diseases. We help people preserve life, everyday life and dignity. That is what geriatric nursing is about."
