About the job

Would you like to be part of a strong professional community where high specialization, close collaboration and meaningful work go hand in hand?

With us you become part of a department where every day you make a noticeable difference for patients with complex and often critical illness trajectories. You encounter a daily life characterized by highly specialized nursing, a high tempo and clinical challenges that require both your professionalism, your overview and your ability to act calmly and safely when it matters.

You now have the opportunity to become part of an engaged team, where we lift together, develop our professionalism and support each other in an exciting and varied everyday life. If you are motivated by responsibility, professional development and the possibility to make a real difference for patients in complex courses, this may be the position for you.

Commencement on 1 January 2027 or by agreement (e.g., 1 December 2026 or 1 February 2027).

About us

An department with regional function in specialist patients. This means that we see both patients from our own catchment area with varying disease complexity, but also the sickest and most complex specialist patients from other parts of the country. We work closely interdisciplinary, and have a strong professional and social community.

We receive elective and acute patients

Some things can be planned, but we are also adaptable when we receive patients who are or become acutely ill. This requires that we are sharp in our professionalism, nursing observations and actions, and can share cross-disciplinary responsibility. Therefore we also prioritize developing the competence of the individual, groups and the department as a whole.

We have a broad demographic range of patients

Many different reasons can underlie why someone becomes a specialist patient with us. Addiction, cancer diagnosis, autoimmune disease, etc. Therefore we also have patients who are admitted for as little as 1 day to several months, patients who are young, adults and older, and patients with very diverse social backgrounds. This places demands on our relational competences which must span a wide range.

We are a department with many opportunities

In Liver, Gastrointestinal and Bowel Diseases we are open to developmental work both internally as well as externally within the department. This means you have the opportunity to contribute to larger or smaller development tasks, be a key person or specialist responsible within different areas, or in time establish exciting alternative collaborations such as service in Greenland or in connection with the Defence if of interest.

We can offer

We work closely across disciplines and prioritize both quality of treatment and supporting each other in a busy daily life. Here there is room for professional development, sparring and a strong collegial community, where we lift as one.

  • an introductory period tailored with regard to individual needs
  • an introduction that includes a combination of close clinical supervision, internal teaching and ongoing well-being and development conversations
  • a group of colleagues who support, laugh and share their knowledge
  • work with the possibility of new thinking and to actively take part in developing nursing in the department
  • a department that values and prioritizes social activities in the department
  • a work community where time is allocated to keep us professionally proficient through specialty and project hours for development and implementation, interprofessional simulation and scheduled weekly teaching
  • work in a nursing organization that provides security and good opportunity for professional sparring in daily task solving
  • great influence on your own schedule in the form of a desired schedule (it is expected to have weekend work corresponding to 8-hour shifts every 3rd weekend as on-call. As experience grows, 12-hour shifts every 4th weekend may be desired.)
  • We offer time, space, framework and opportunities, but you are expected to take (a) joint responsibility for your own learning.

We are looking for a colleague who

  • is ready to learn, be challenged and develop professionally as well as personally
  • is motivated to work in a varied daily life where you actively observe and prioritize
  • would contribute positively to the work environment
  • can see opportunities and solutions.
