About the job

Become part of O – Overgaden in a study-related internship in the autumn semester 2026 with a focus on curation and communication

Application deadline Monday 27 April 2026. We will conduct interviews on an ongoing basis.

O – Overgaden Institute for Contemporary Art, which is uniquely located in former industrial spaces by Christianshavn Canal, presents annually around eight major exhibitions as well as a wide range of artist talks, performances, film screenings and debates with a focus on broadening knowledge of new and experimental artistic practices. As an intern at O – Overgaden you will become part of an art space that produces contemporary art exhibitions and events at a high tempo, and a small team that works together.

We can offer

During the internship period you will be a permanent part of our small core team and therefore included in all daily tasks, important conversations and weekly joint meetings. You will gain insight into the varied tasks that exist at the art house, and you will have the opportunity to try your hand at tasks within communication, event work, assisting curatorial tasks, exhibition coordination and administration at the art house – depending on your profile and interests.

We offer a wide range of tasks, experiences and opportunities where your engagement can really make a difference. We are a dynamic house with a short path from idea to action, and we will greatly be able to steer tasks in the direction of what you would like to focus on developing.

Concrete tasks with a focus on curation and communication could be

  • Research and planning of exhibitions, events and new initiatives
  • Exhibition production, especially in the week leading up to openings
  • Planning, marketing and execution of events
  • Funding applications work
  • Various forms of exhibition mediation/communication
  • Dissemination and communications tasks (newsletters, social media, communication of events on external platforms etc.)
  • Development of new marketing initiatives and collaborations at O – Overgaden
  • Audience analyses
  • Planning, marketing and execution of events
  • Exhibition production, especially the week before openings

We envision that you…

  • Are currently pursuing a higher education, as the internship is unpaid but part of the education.
  • Have knowledge of or interest in contemporary art.
  • Have the desire to engage and the courage to tackle a lot of new and diverse tasks.
  • Are proactive, organized, service-minded and you are motivated by a daily life with many changing projects and varying deadlines.

Send us your application and your CV (max. one page each) to [email protected] with the subject line “Internship application” no later than Monday 27 April 2026. We will conduct interviews on an ongoing basis.
