About the job

Internship

O – Overgaden seeks an intern for the spring semester 2026

Become part of O – Overgaden in a study-related internship during the spring semester 2026 with a focus on curating and communication Application deadline Friday 24 October 2025

O – Overgaden Institute for Contemporary Art, which is uniquely located in former industrial premises by Christianshavn's canal, presents annually around eight major exhibitions as well as a range of artist talks, performances, film screenings and debates with a focus on spreading knowledge of new and experimental artistic practices. As an intern at O – Overgaden you will become part of an art gallery that produces contemporary art exhibitions and events at a high pace, and a small team that works together collaboratively.

We can offer

During the internship period you will be a fixed part of our small core staff and therefore included in all daily tasks, important conversations and weekly staff meetings. You will gain insight into the varied tasks found at the art gallery, and you will have the opportunity to try your hand at tasks within communication, event work, assistant curating tasks, exhibition coordination and administration at the art gallery – depending on your profile and interests.

We offer a wide range of tasks, experiences and opportunities where your engagement can truly make a difference. We are a dynamic house with a short path from idea to action, and we can largely steer tasks in the direction of what you would like to develop.

Concrete tasks focusing on curating could be

  • Research and planning of exhibitions, events and new initiatives
  • Exhibition production, especially in the week up to openings
  • Planning, marketing and execution of events
  • Grant/funding applications work
  • Different forms of exhibition mediation

Concrete tasks focusing on communication

  • Dissemination and communications tasks (newsletters, SoMe, communication of events on external platforms etc.)
  • Development of new marketing initiatives and collaborations at O – Overgaden
  • Audience analyses
  • Planning, marketing and execution of events
  • Exhibition production, especially in the week up to openings

We imagine that you…

  • Are currently pursuing a higher education, as the internship is unpaid but part of the education.
  • Have knowledge of or interest in contemporary art.
  • Are eager to engage and have the courage to take on many new and diverse tasks.
  • Are proactive, organized, service-minded and you are motivated by a daily life with many changing projects and varying deadlines

Send us your application and your CV (max. one page each) to Vera Østrup, [email protected] and Clara Linn Collins-Andersen, [email protected] with the subject line “Praktikansøgning” no later than Friday 24 October 2025.

We expect to hold interviews on 29 and 30 October.

We are very much looking forward to hearing from you!
