About the job
We are looking for a dedicated occupational therapist for approximately 30 hours per week, who wants to apply their professional skills and help create the best framework for our residents' lives, wellbeing and independence.
We are a new private pay-for-care home that began operating on 1 June 2026. We have 30 apartments and are still in an exciting start-up phase, where we together develop our professional practice, workflows and culture. Therefore we are looking for you who want to actively contribute to shaping everyday life and leave your mark on the occupational therapy approach.
About the position
As an occupational therapist with us, you will play an important role in supporting residents’ functional ability, quality of life and the possibility to live as independently and meaningfully as possible.
You will become part of daily care and support and will be part of a close interdisciplinary collaboration with our other staff. We see it as a strength that the occupational therapy profession is closely connected to residents’ everyday life, so that together we can create coherence between care, rehabilitation, activities and quality of life.
We work from the individual resident’s resources, needs, wishes and life history. This means that we both consider what the resident can do themselves and how we best can support, motivate and compensate when needed.
Your tasks will among other things be
- To carry out occupational therapy assessments of residents’ functional abilities, resources and activity options.
- To plan, implement and follow up targeted rehabilitative interventions with a focus on preserving and developing residents’ skills.
- To integrate a rehabilitative and activating approach into daily care, assistance and practical help.
- To support residents’ independence in everyday activities, for example personal care, meals, dressing and participation in social communities.
- To assess needs for aids, welfare technology and appropriate layout of the residents’ surroundings.
- To contribute with professional guidance and sparring to colleagues so that the occupational therapy approach becomes a natural part of daily life.
- To collaborate closely with nurses, social and health assistants, social and health helpers, general practitioners and other relevant health professionals.
- To contribute to professional documentation, follow-up and development of our workflows and interdisciplinary cooperation.
You should also be willing to participate in care and be present where residents’ needs are greatest. We view daily contact with residents as an important prerequisite for observing changes in function and wellbeing and translating your professional assessments into concrete actions.
We are looking for someone who
- Is a trained occupational therapist and passionate about working with older people.
- Has a rehabilitative and person-centered approach, where the resident’s wishes, dignity and autonomy are at the center.
- Can translate your professional knowledge into practical solutions that make sense in residents’ everyday lives.
- Thrives in interdisciplinary collaboration and sees the value in sharing knowledge and learning from each other.
- Has an eye for both the individual resident’s needs and the shared responsibility for quality of care.
- Is flexible, proactive and keen to help develop professional workflows at a new private pay-for-care home.
- Works systematically with observation, documentation and follow-up.
- Meets residents, relatives and colleagues with respect, presence and a positive attitude.
Experience from the elderly care sector and with rehabilitation is advantageous, but most important is that you want to contribute with your professional expertise and help create a good everyday life for our residents.
What can we offer you?
With us you will have the opportunity to become part of a new private pay-for-care home, where there is still room to develop, test and shape the professional practice.
We offer you
- A workplace in development where your professional input and ideas are valued.
- Opportunity to influence and further develop the occupational therapy efforts from the start.
- A close collaboration with engaged colleagues across disciplines.
- A daily life with variety, professional challenges and the possibility to follow the residents’ development.
- Focus on rehabilitation, quality of life, self-determination and dignified aging.
- The opportunity to help create a shared culture where we support each other and lift tasks together.
We believe that the highest quality arises when we actively use our different professional competencies and collaborate on what matters most to the residents.
Work hours and employment
The position is around 30 hours per week.
The working hours will mainly be day shifts, supplemented with occasional evening shifts and weekend work about every 2nd or 3rd weekend by arrangement.
We want to create a good balance between continuity for residents, professional quality and a well-functioning workday for our staff.
Do you want to help make a difference?
Are you excited to bring your occupational therapy expertise into a daily life where relationships, rehabilitation and interdisciplinary collaboration go hand in hand? And are you motivated by the opportunity to help develop a new private pay-for-care home?
Then we look forward to hearing from you.
