About the job

Do you have a flair for financial management, budget monitoring, and an interest in payroll management and people economics? And do you want to help support financial management in one of the country’s largest public service organizations? Then become part of the Center for Financial Management in the City of Copenhagen’s Finance Administration.

About the position

As a financial partner, your primary task is to support internal payroll management and budget follow-up in the centers in the Corporate Service, which provides administrative services to Copenhagen Municipality’s seven administrations. You will, together with good colleagues, play a central role in the work with payroll management, budget follow-ups and forecasts. You contribute to creating an overview of the centers’ personnel economics and a solid basis for management’s financial decisions.

This is an exciting and responsible job with close contact to managers and colleagues in Corporate Service, where you become an important financial sparring partner.

Your tasks

The position implies that you

  • function as a financial partner and manage payroll for one or more of Corporate Service’s centers
  • analyze the development in salary expenditure and identify financial risks and options for action
  • handle budgeting and budget follow-up tasks
  • translate financial data into clear and usable management information
  • provide financial advice and sparring to the centers’ management
  • contribute to the development and improvement of processes and tools for payroll management
  • participate in the team’s other financial management tasks

The concrete tasks will be composed with regard to your experience and competences, and the task composition may therefore change as a result thereof.

About you

We expect that you have

  • a relevant education in economics or social sciences
  • experience with or interest in financial management and payroll and personnel economics
  • strong analytical competences and good system understanding, preferably Excel and Power BI
  • the ability to convey complex financial issues clearly and understandably
  • a structured and independent approach to tasks
  • willingness to collaborate and to find solutions together

It is an advantage if you have a couple of years of experience with financial management, preferably from a public organization, but it is not a requirement. The most important is that you have a solid financial professional foundation and a desire to learn.

Who are we?

You will become part of the Center for Financial Management, which is responsible for internal financial support of the corporate units and City Hall in the Finance Administration of Copenhagen Municipality. The center is divided into three offices and five teams with about 45 employees. You will join Team Corporate Service Finance, where we work closely with the centers and leaders that we support.

We have a high level of professional ambition and also place importance on a good collegial community where there is room for humor. The team is part of the office, which is responsible for financial management for both Corporate Service, Corporate IT and the Finance Administration’s City Hall part.

Employment terms

Employment is expected to be as an administrative officer. Salary and employment terms are determined in accordance with qualifications and the applicable collective agreement. Working hours are 37 hours per week including a half-hour lunch. We offer a flexitime arrangement and the possibility of home work. Your workplace will be at Borups Allé 177, 2400 Copenhagen NV.
