Experiences and football with a young man who loves to get out

Do you want to take the initiative for trips, play football and create great weekends together with a 19-year-old man? Then this assignment might be something for you.

About the assignment

You will be a support for a 19-year-old man with developmental disability. He enjoys getting out, loves football, restaurant visits, trips to Tivoli or the Zoo, and walks in nature. Also small shopping, where he buys rye bread and vegetables, is an activity he values.

You plan and take the initiative for activities and accompany him on trips as well as to and from sports. He cannot read or use public transport on his own, so you help with finding directions, reading information and creating clear, manageable frames along the way. He manages his own toileting, but needs reminders.

The young man communicates with single words, sounds, gestures, his own signs as well as pictures and concrete objects. You should therefore be keen to learn his way of expressing himself. Appointments matter a lot to him, and he emphasizes that you follow what has been agreed.

About you

You are a trained pedagogue or unskilled with experience with people with developmental disabilities. You want to participate in the activities and can take responsibility for planning and initiating your trips.

You give him time to express himself and meet him with patience. At the same time you can set clear, calm frameworks and be a person he can rely on.

Working hours

We are looking for 1–2 staff to cover a total of 25 hours per month. Shifts are on Saturdays or Sundays from 11:00–16:00 or from 12:00–17:00.

You can handle the assignment every weekend or share weekends with another employee.

Outside office hours there is always a staffed duty phone, so you are never alone. Salary and pension in accordance with the National Agreement entered into between FOA and Dansk Erhverv. You are covered by DUOS’s liability and occupational accident insurance and health insurance is part of your pension arrangement.
