About the job

Do you enjoy translating complicated requirements into practical solutions, bringing together colleagues from different functions, challenging existing ways of working, and implementing practical solutions across a large international organization?

We are looking for a Packaging Compliance Specialist to play a key role in shaping how we work with packaging compliance (PPWR) in the future.

New packaging regulations are changing how companies document, report, and manage packaging data across the value chain. At ABENA, we have already started that journey. We are now looking for a Compliance Specialist who can help translate complex regulatory requirements into practical solutions that work in a global business.

This is not just about understanding regulations. It is about making them work in practice.

PPWR is not just a compliance challenge. It is a business transformation that affects processes, data, systems, suppliers, and decision-making across the organization. We are looking for someone who can create structure, build stakeholder commitment, and implement complex requirements into practical solutions with a clear mandate to drive progress.

Your main responsibilities

  • Translate PPWR and other packaging requirements into practical business requirements and implementation activities
  • Drive alignment across functions, systems, processes, and documentation impacted by packaging compliance requirements
  • Partner with stakeholders and process owners to establish sustainable solutions that work in practice
  • Assess compliance risks, implementation impacts, and documentation gaps across the organization
  • Contribute to the development of scalable approaches for packaging data collection, documentation, and reporting
  • Act as a trusted compliance specialist and implementation partner for both internal and external stakeholders throughout ABENA

What we hope you bring

  • Experience implementing complex cross-functional compliance framework projects
  • The ability to navigate ambiguity and create structure in evolving environments
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and the confidence to challenge constructively when needed
  • Experience translating technical, regulatory, or complex requirements into operational solutions
  • A pragmatic mindset that balances compliance requirements with business realities
  • Professional English skills and experience working within an international organization

Your Team, Our Culture and Values

You will join Global Compliance, a team of experienced specialists working across regulatory compliance, medical devices, environmental claims, certifications and regulatory intelligence.

We collaborate extensively across the business because compliance challenges cannot be solved by a single department alone. In our team, we value trust, curiosity, ownership, and professional integrity. We help each other succeed, challenge assumptions respectfully, and work together to translate complex topics into practical outcomes that create value for the business.

Your leader at ABENA will be Global Compliance Manager Christina Aaen Andresen, who describes her leadership style as follows:

"I believe in giving people responsibility, trust, and the mandate to make an impact. You will have the freedom to drive your area and make decisions. I believe the best results come from empowered people who are trusted to take ownership while having clear direction and support when needed”

At ABENA, you join a global company with a strong purpose: To make a real difference in the everyday lives of people around the world. We combine professionalism with a warm, people-first culture where collaboration, curiosity, and continuous improvement are necessary parts of everyday life. We take pride in delivering high-quality work with integrity, guided by our core values of trust, fairness, and cooperation. These values shape how we lead, support one another, and create meaningful impact for our customers and communities.

We look forward to hearing from you
