About the job

We are looking for you who believe in the person – and see the possibilities in the individual.

Can you see the resources behind the challenges, rejoice in the small victories and meet people with curiosity, calm and recognition? Can you also enjoy an incredible view, thrive with sea mist and seagull cries and see the value in a good laugh with colleagues? Then perhaps you are the one we are looking for!

Become part of a warm and professionally engaged collegial community with the citizen at the center at Thisted's largest residential facility with 50 apartments. Here we believe in the individual, in the importance of relationships, and that together we can create a everyday life with more self-determination, well-being and quality of life.

Do you have heart, professional development and a desire to make a difference? Then we look forward to hearing from you!

A residential facility with room for people – and for new ideas

Since May 2026 we have been in operation in our new residential facility with 50 apartments, a fantastic view, and Cold Hawaii Inland as the nearest neighbor.

We are a residential facility for adults with physical and mental disabilities. People with their own histories, dreams, challenges, personality and life goals.

Our main task is to create the framework for the individual to live as independently, safely and meaningfully as possible.

It requires professionalism. It requires patience. It requires the courage to think differently.

But most of all it requires people who want other people.

We are a workplace in development, and we have room for you who want to put your mark on our shared everyday life. Here there should be room for professional discussions, good laughs, new ideas and to admit when we don't have the answer – yet. For we will never finish learning.

We believe that relationships make a difference

For us, pedagogy is not about making people fit into a certain frame. It is about understanding the individual and creating frameworks that make sense for him or her.

We work holistically and base our approach on residents' resources, wishes and needs.

Our pedagogical foundation includes

  • KRAP , where we focus on resources, acknowledgment and the possibilities already found in the individual.
  • Neuropedagogy , where we seek to understand the individual's prerequisites and adjust demands and activities accordingly.
  • Low arousal , because calm, relationships and our own approach can be decisive for how a situation develops.
  • Nature as part of everyday life , where the surroundings can make space for movement, sensory experiences, community and well-being.

We believe in small steps. In repetitions. In the relationship that takes time to build. And in the idea that a good pedagogical effort can sometimes be seen in something others may not notice at all.

Those are precisely the kind of victories we want to be good at.

A good working life is also important

We don't just want our residents to thrive. We also want you to thrive, develop yourself and want to come to work.

Therefore we start with dialogue-based/self-planned working hours in spring 2027, where you together with your team will have influence on the planning of your own shift schedules.

We believe that shared influence and responsibility can help create a more flexible workplace and a everyday life that fits better together.

With us you have the opportunity to shape both your own working day and the professional direction we develop together.

We prioritise

  • A strong collegial community where we help each other.
  • A work environment where both physical and mental health count.
  • Shared influence and room for new ideas.
  • Humor, honesty and decency – even on the days when things are tough.
  • We do not promise that every day will be easy. The work can be busy, complex and demanding. But we can promise that it is a job where your effort makes a difference.

Who do we hope you are?

Perhaps you are a trained pedagogue or PAU. Perhaps you have many years of experience. Perhaps you are new to the field and bring fresh eyes and a desire to learn. The most important thing is that you meet other people with respect, curiosity and warmth – and that you want to bring your professionalism into play.

We hope that you

  • Can see the person behind the behavior and stay calm when situations are challenging.
  • Have an eye for small progress and a desire to turn them into shared successes.
  • Dare to share your thoughts, ask questions and be curious about your own practice.
  • Can work independently and at the same time know that we are most successful together.
  • Want to collaborate closely with both relatives and colleagues.
  • Have an interest in pedagogical documentation and preferably knowledge of CURA.
  • Want to learn or have experience with communication forms such as sign language, pictograms, Go Talk Now and Elialay.
  • Are reliable, flexible and preferably have a good dose of humor in your work bag.

You do not need to be able to check everything off. We know that no one can do everything.

We are looking for colleagues who want to learn, take responsibility and be part of a community where we can both support and challenge each other professionally.

Do you have heart, professional development and a desire to make a difference? Then we would love to hear from you

You don't need to write the perfect application. Tell us who you are, what you are passionate about, and what you can contribute. We look forward to meeting you!
