Passionate vocational teachers for electrician training - help educate the tradespeople of the future

Techcollege experiences a marked growth in the number of apprentices within the electrician education and an increasing interest in our continuing education courses. We therefore seek two passionate electricians/installers who are ready to take responsibility for teaching and inspiring our next generation of professionals.

We are looking for two qualified colleagues to lead the teaching in both theoretical and practical aspects of the electrician education. It is essential that you can connect theoretical concepts with practical execution, and that you have a heart for both your trade and pedagogy. We place a strong emphasis on creating strong relationships and a meaningful learning experience for our apprentices and course participants.

The job

Your role will, among other things, be to bring your professional knowledge and experience into a teaching context, where you support and inspire apprentices in their professional and personal development. Your background as an electrician, installer or similar, combined with practical experience, makes you an ideal candidate. Pedagogical experience is an advantage but not a requirement – we also welcome those who have the potential and desire to develop their teaching competences.

We expect that you initially start by teaching the basic course, where you help give the students a safe and motivating start to the trade. Here you will learn our didactics, workshops, materials and team culture – and we will match the tasks to your strengths.

As you settle in and develop in the role, opportunities will open for you to gradually take on teaching in other parts of the education (e.g., selected themes from the main course and relevant AMU courses), depending on interest, competencies and the school’s needs. Development occurs in close dialogue with the team and management, with on-the-job training, sparring and continuing education as natural building blocks, so you always have the best prerequisites to succeed both professionally and relationally.

Your qualifications and competencies

· You are educated as an electrician, installer or the equivalent.

· You have practical and theoretical knowledge within the electrical trade.

· You have an interest in both professional and pedagogical continuing education.

· You possess strong communication skills, empathy and patience for students’ challenges.

· You are capable of motivating and inspiring students, being a role model and creating an engaging learning environment.

Whether you are a generalist or specialized within the electrical trade is not decisive. We base our approach on your competencies and see whether we can put together a nice overall package for both you and us.

Salary and employment terms

There are two permanent full-time positions at 37 hours per week with start on December 1 or as soon as possible.

Workplace is Øster Uttrup Vej 1, 9000 Aalborg.

Employment and remuneration are carried out in accordance with the applicable Circular on pay for teachers employed on civil servant-like terms at institutions for vocational education and the Ministry of Education’s regulation 2007-02-01 no. 101 on employment conditions for civil-servant-like employees at institutions for vocational education and in dining departments. The position includes a probationary period of two years in accordance with the provisions of regulation no. 101 of 01.02.2007.

Applicants without pedagogical education must complete a pedagogical diploma education within 4 years after employment. The education is paid by the school and offered as part of your employment.
