Pedagogical hourly position for a support stay

Dømmestrupgård seeks an hourly-paid staff member for a support stay

Can you create calm, be present, and hold on to the relationship – even when a child is having a tough time? And would you like to become part of the everyday life at Dømmestrupgård?

We are looking for a staff member who can step in as needed. You will initially be employed on an hourly basis without a fixed schedule. In due course, for the right profile, there may be a possibility of a permanent position.

A place with room for both community and breaks

Dømmestrupgård is a support stay for children and young people aged 8–15, located in rural surroundings on Midtfyn near Årslev.

With us, the children meet secure adults, clear frameworks, and a daily life with space for experiences, community, and calm. We have our own forest and good opportunities for outdoor activities, just as indoors there is room to withdraw and take a break.

Children come with different prerequisites and support needs. We start from each child and work in a resource-oriented, affirming, relationship-based and environmentally therapeutic way.

Your role with us

You will become part of the children's daily life during their stay. This means that you must be able to initiate an activity, participate in practical tasks, and have a eye for the child who needs a little extra support.

Your tasks will include, among other things, to

• Create secure relationships and support the children in everyday small and large situations.
• Contribute to structure, predictability and a good sense of community.
• Plan and participate in activities based on the children’s needs and interests, e.g. a forest trip or a FIFA game.
• Maintain calm and help the children when something becomes difficult.
• Take part in cleaning, shopping and other practical tasks.
• Pick up and drop off the children at school.
• Document relevant observations and collaborate with colleagues, families and other partners.

We are looking for someone who

• Is educated as a pedagogue, has another social educational education or has relevant experience e.g. as a pedagogy assistant.
• Is present, energetic, clear and patient in your work with children and young people.
• Has good communication skills, both oral and written.
• Can work independently while also engaging in close collaboration with your colleagues.
• Wants to use both your professional knowledge and your own interests in daily life.
• Is willing to work shifts – including evenings and weekends.
• Has a driver's license and own car.

Both a child protection and a criminal record certificate will be obtained in connection with the employment.

Employment and working hours

The position is on an hourly basis with shifts as needed and by agreement. There is no fixed duty roster or a fixed weekly number of hours.

Working hours are varied and include day, evening and weekend work as well as holidays. The work is arranged as around-the-clock shifts, and you must therefore be able to sleep on-site at Dømmestrupgård in connection with your shifts.

In due course, there may be the possibility of a permanent position.
