About us

Valdemarsgade Nursing Home is a specialized offering for citizens with dementia. We have 31 permanent places plus one respite bed, which provides the opportunity for residents to stay longer in their own home.

The nursing home is divided into smaller units, which create security, recognizability, and presence for the residents. We work from a person-centered approach, where the individual resident's life story, wishes, and resources form the basis for the intervention.

You will become part of an engaged multidisciplinary team where different professional backgrounds contribute to creating the best possible framework for residents' well-being and quality of life.

Your role as a pedagogue

As a pedagogue at Valdemarsgade you will be an important part of the residents' daily lives. You actively participate in both the pedagogical efforts and the daily care and nursing. The work takes place in close collaboration with the other professional groups in the house, and you will be on a fixed day shift schedule with work every other weekend.

Your tasks will include, among other things, to

• Collaborate with colleagues in the multidisciplinary team
• Contribute with health-professional knowledge and guidance
• Ensure a safe and dignified life for residents with dementia
• Work based on the Health Act and ensure high-quality documentation
• Collaborate with residents, relatives, guardians, and other relevant actors

We are looking for someone who

• is educated as a pedagogue
• has a calm and inviting demeanor – nonverbal communication is important
• has an interest in or experience with the dementia field
• has a preventive approach and can observe small changes in residents' condition
• dare to think creatively and find solutions with respect for the individual
• remains calm in acute situations and acts professionally
• is familiar with IT and documentation

Practical information

• Salary and employment conditions in accordance with the applicable collective agreement
• The position is 37 hours per week or as agreed.
• Work every other weekend.
