About the job

Relationships, professionalism and meaningful activities

A skilled colleague is retiring, therefore we are now seeking an educator or an occupational therapist for the Activity Center and with weekend shifts in Bocenter every 4 weeks.

Neurocenter Bytoften has a rarely vacant position in the Activity Center combined with weekend shifts in Bocenter starting 01 January 2027 or as soon as possible.

With us you will have a meaningful everyday life. We primarily focus on the citizens' well-being and quality of life, and secondarily on employees' professional development, good collegial relationships and a safe working environment. We place a high value on community and look forward to welcoming you as part of a dedicated and diverse staff team.

All positions in the Activity Center are combined with weekend shifts in Bocenter.

In daily work you will work in the Activity Center, where the working day typically lies in the time window 9.30–15.30 on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, while Wednesdays start earlier.

On some days there may be slightly shifted working hours when you are responsible for driving citizens who are picked up off-site.

Every fourth weekend you have a shift in Bocenter on Saturday and Sunday, which includes a longer shift of 12 hours.

The position is basically 30 hours per week, but there is the possibility of more hours if you wish – see further down in the posting.

In the Activity Center we work in different groups, of which you will become a part. Here we create structure and security for the citizens through meaningful activities, relationships and social interaction. Everyday life is lively and changing and contains room for humor and spontaneity – and for immersion, reflection and more serious conversations. The activities span a wide range, and the citizens are active co-creators of the content. You will therefore have great opportunity to apply your professional competencies and help shape daily life.

In Bocenter we support residents in their everyday life and home life. The tasks range from personal care to supporting the community in the department and contributing to making the weekend a good and meaningful experience. Here the focus is on both calm, presence, coziness and activities – all centered on the residents' needs and wishes.

You will become part of a multidisciplinary colleague group consisting of social- and health care assistants, educators, occupational therapists and nurses.

We work closely together and actively use each other's professional expertise in daily work. We expect that you are keen on sparring, reflection and joint professional development – both within your own profession and in the multidisciplinary collaboration.

Experience with the target group or specialized training is not a requirement.

The most important for us is that you want to work with people with acquired brain injury and physical challenges, and that you approach the task with curiosity, engagement and willingness to learn. We provide thorough introduction and the necessary support so you are well prepared for the duties.

We will hold interviews on Thursday, November 19, 2026.

The application deadline is November 15 at 21:00.

Applications with proof of education and other relevant documents should be sent electronically via Herning Municipality's website. More information
