About the job

Are you a physician with clinical experience in neurology, a PhD degree and an interest in clinical research? Then we have an exciting opportunity for you.

At the Neurological Research AUH, we are seeking a full-time postdoc for the period from February 1, 2027 to January 31, 2028.

Job description

We are seeking a physician with interest in and experience in the neuromuscular field for a 100% position as a postdoc at the Neurological Research AUH.

A substantial part of the position will be to perform the clinical duties related to the medical research trials conducted at the department, as a subinvestigator in close collaboration with the studies' principal investigators. You will thus have the opportunity to work with a wide range of neuromuscular diseases and gain experience in conducting clinical drug trials.

Your tasks will include, among others: screening and inclusion of patients, clinical examinations of study participants, administration of the trial treatment, monitoring of efficacy and safety, and documentation as well as other clinical research tasks. The tasks are performed in close collaboration with project nurses, other researchers and clinical colleagues.

The position also offers the opportunity to develop and carry out independent research projects in collaboration with the research group. There will thus be good opportunities to combine work on clinical trials with one's own research interests and to continue building an academic career in neurology.

Qualifications

We are seeking a candidate who

  • has Danish authorization as a physician
  • has obtained a PhD
  • at the time of employment has completed an introductory training in neurology
  • can speak and write and understands Danish and English

We would like you to have previously interacted with the Department of Neurological Research AUH, and it is an advantage if you have prior experience with research within the neuromuscular area.

It is important that you can work independently, but also that you have good collaboration skills and thrive in a multidisciplinary environment.

At AUH, life is entirely in the best hands

AUH is an internationally recognized and highly specialized hospital that also serves as the acute hospital for 355,000 citizens in Aarhus. We are united as one AUH in a hospital town with more than 10,000 employees, who work together in strong communities across disciplines and departments.

We are the country’s complete hospital with both broad and highest level of professionalism, and we conduct research in close collaboration with Aarhus University and with regional, national and international partners. You will become part of a workplace where the focus is on the whole person and creating results through collaboration.

The Department of Neurological Research is a research division in rapid development. We prioritize development projects in health promotion. We place great emphasis on a good educational and teaching environment, where active participation is required.

Application, terms of employment and commencement

Salary and employment terms in accordance with the applicable collective agreement. The employment is conditional on a satisfactory police clearance for children and a satisfactory authorization.

If you would like further information about the position, you are welcome to contact Professor Henning Andersen by email [email protected] or phone +45 7845 4250.

Your qualifications will be assessed based on the seven physician roles, and you will complete a form about this as part of the electronic application process.

The application deadline is October 30, 2026. Job interviews will be held on November 2, 2026.

The position is, in principle, a full-time position.

As Region Midtjylland continuously implements cost savings and reorganizations, employees in redeployment who apply for the position will have priority.

Region Midtjylland is, in accordance with the EU’s wage transparency directive, which came into force on June 7, 2026, obliged to inform you of the starting salary or a salary range for a position before you are offered employment.
