Project Director for a construction company in development

Personale-huset is recruiting on behalf of a well-established contracting company in Greater Copenhagen for a project director who will play a central role in the company’s continued development.

The company has over the years built a solid position in the market and today faces the next step in its organizational development. The ambition is to strengthen daily management, create even greater coherence between projects, finances and the organization, and establish a structure that can support the company’s future development.

Therefore, we are seeking an experienced and business-oriented leader who can take broad responsibility for daily operations and at the same time be a strong sparring partner for the owner.

The Role

As project director you will have broad leadership responsibility and become the natural focal point between owner, employees, customers, projects and finances.

You will get close to the business and are expected both to maintain the operational overview and work strategically with the company’s development.

A significant part of the task will be to further develop structure, processes and management information so there is a clear and ongoing overview of, among other things, project progress, finances, resources and profitability.

You will also have the opportunity to shape both the role and the organization. There are short decision paths and real influence.

Your core areas of responsibility include, among others

• Overall responsibility for daily operations and the organization
• Leadership and development of employees and key personnel
• Ensuring structure, progress and follow-up on ongoing projects
• Project economics, budgeting, liquidity monitoring and financial reporting
• Resource and capacity management across projects
• Follow-up on calculations, contribution margins and project profitability
• Development and implementation of relevant workflows and leadership tools
• Customer and partner relationships
• Sparring with the owner on strategy, organization and business development

Who are you?

We envision that you already have substantial leadership experience from the construction, contracting or installation industry.

You could for example come from a position as director, operations director, department head, contracting manager or senior project manager, where you have had broad responsibility for both people, projects and finances.

The crucial thing is not your current title, but that you understand the mechanisms of a project- and contracting organization and can translate financial and operational data into concrete managerial decisions.

You therefore have a solid grasp of project economics and know how crucial managing ongoing work, invoicing, liquidity, resources and contribution margins are for a healthy contracting business.

As a leader you are visible and clear without creating unnecessary bureaucracy. You can set requirements, follow up and make decisions, but at the same time you manage to build trust and bring the organization with you.

You also thrive in an owner-led company where the dialogue is direct, decision paths are short, and where the relationship between owner and director is built on mutual trust and respect for each other’s roles.
