You will become part of an experienced project management team and a strong technical environment where you will work closely with specialists in areas such as hardware, software, mechanics, system integration and production. For the right profile, the role can also be a natural next step on the path to larger and more complex projects and, in time, potentially a role as Senior Project Manager or Program Manager.

Primary tasks

As a Project Manager you will be responsible for driving technical development projects from plan to delivery. You will create structure and momentum, but a significant part of your success also lies in your ability to get different disciplines to work in the same direction.

You will become the natural link between specialists and other stakeholders and will, among other things, be responsible for:

• ensuring business cases, deadlines and project finances
• defining and following up on scope, estimates, schedules, deliverables and dependencies
• creating a common direction in the projects for specialists across disciplines
• managing challenges, changes and priorities along the way
• collaborating with colleagues across the organization and RTX’s international locations
• contributing to the ongoing development of RTX’s project and program management

In other words, you should be able to stand firmly on the classic project management disciplines, while also being comfortable with the fact that technical development projects rarely move in a perfectly straight line.

Your qualifications

We are looking for an experienced project manager who has hands-on experience with complex technical product development and knows what it takes to create momentum in multidisciplinary teams.

You may have a degree as an engineer in software, electronics, health technology or another relevant technical background. However, your degree title is not decisive. The most important is that through your experience you have built a strong project management capability and have the technical understanding that enables you to engage in qualified dialogue with the specialists. We especially emphasise that you:

• have solid experience with project management as a discipline
• have worked with technical product development, e.g. in software, electronics or related areas
• have experience leading multidisciplinary project teams
• master the classic project management disciplines and work methodically and structured
• have an analytical approach and can create overview in complex problems
• have assertiveness and dare to ask the questions that push the project forward
• maintain overview when complexity or pressure increases
• have ambitions to continue developing yourself within project and program management.

You do not need to be the technical specialist in the room. On the other hand, you must understand the technology well enough to ask the right questions, challenge constructively and go one level deeper than the overall project management.
