about the job

As a project manager at Arkil in Sønderborg you will have a varied and responsible daily life, where you take ownership of your projects from the very first calculations to the final delivery. You will be responsible for driving exciting tasks within technically demanding areas such as sewerage, land development, district heating, electricity and fiber cables.

A central and important part of your role will be the costing work, as the department specifically needs a profile to calculate and bid on new projects. Here you have the opportunity to shape the projects from the bidding phase and ensure that the financial baseline and schedule are realistic from the start. This will take place in close collaboration with the department head, and you will have the opportunity to draw on expertise from the rest of the department.

When the projects move into the execution phase, you ensure the overall progress. You will be responsible for managing the economy, time and quality assurance (KS) on the individual cases, which typically range from 5-15 million kroner. You will often have responsibility for 1-2 cases concurrently, which gives you the opportunity to go in-depth with the tasks and ensure high quality at all levels.

The daily on-site leadership takes place in close and trustworthy collaboration with a foreman, and you will function as the client’s primary contact throughout the process. Additionally you will be responsible for entering into agreements with subcontractors and negotiating with other suppliers to ensure the best solutions for the projects.

In this role you will experience a very high degree of freedom to plan your day and shape the content of your tasks. about you

We are looking for an engaged and proactive person who enjoys keeping an overview and always trying to be ahead of the challenges that may arise in the projects. You have a structured way of working and naturally think in optimization and alternative solutions.

We imagine that you

• Have a practical background from the construction industry. A specific formal education is less important than your practical experience, and a relevant background from the building industry is also welcome.
• Have experience with – or practical knowledge of – civil works such as sewerage, district heating, fiber or gas lines.
• Have experience and the desire to handle costing tasks from bid to delivery.
• Have strong communication skills with all levels in the organization, thrive in a crossover between client and foremen, and have the courage to have tough conversations when required.
