Details about the task

Reporting to the head of innovation, you will handle administrative and coordinating tasks and support progress in the Innovation Clinic’s cross-cutting initiatives. You will work closely with colleagues, management, clinical environments, and external partners.

The position is strong in project coordination, fund administration, executive support, and follow-up . You will create an overview, prepare case materials, and ensure that decisions and agreements are followed up on. You will also contribute to defined development tasks based on the priorities set for the innovation effort.

A continuous focus will be to support the work with the clinic-near innovation through coordination of activities, collaborations, and organizational anchoring.

In collaboration with colleagues, your tasks will include, among others

  • Managing the administration of the strategic health innovation fund. You will coordinate the application process, prepare cases for decision, and handle ongoing contact with applicants and grant recipients. The task also includes an overview of grants and follow-up on project progress and reporting in cooperation with relevant professional and administrative functions.
  • Supporting dialogue with and handling inquiries from public national and regional partners. You will support joint initiatives, knowledge exchange, and collaborations on the development of the innovation effort. This includes, among other things, preparing meetings, coordinating North Jutland contributions, and following up on agreements based on regional needs and priorities.
  • Supporting collaboration with for example Healthcare Denmark and Danish Life Science Cluster, among others. You will handle ongoing coordination, prepare dialogues, and follow up on joint activities.
  • Supporting profiling of the North Jutland innovation effort. You will gather and qualify knowledge about North Jutland strengths, initiatives, and results for use in internal professional presentations for staff and external profiling in national and international fora. The work should contribute to bringing North Jutland experiences and competencies into play with innovation as the fourth pillar.

About you

You have a relevant social science Master's degree, for example in political science, public administration, communications, or similar.

You thrive in an academic generalist role where you combine administrative tasks with project coordination and executive support. You work systematically, have an eye for detail, and can also maintain an overview of several parallel processes.

We are looking for a colleague with a minimum of five years of relevant experience, who has:

  • Experience with project coordination, administration, and executive support, preferably from healthcare, another public organization, or a knowledge environment.
  • Ability to create an overview of project processes, deadlines, and deliverables and ensure systematic follow-up.
  • Experience coordinating collaborations and organizing meetings and activities across organizations and professional disciplines.
  • Strong written and spoken skills in Danish and English.

Experience with fund administration, grant management, or administration of development projects is an advantage. The same applies to knowledge of the Danish health sector and collaboration between regions, knowledge institutions, and industry.

About the Innovation Clinic

As an employee of the Innovation Clinic you will become part of an exciting and developing team with many and varied tasks in a dynamic, cross-disciplinary environment. You will be part of a team with a skilled and ambitious staff group who want to be at the forefront of development and scaling of tomorrow’s health solutions for patients, citizens, and employees.

The Innovation Clinic has since 2009 supported physician- and employee-driven innovation at the hospitals in the North Jutland Region with a view to translating inventions and good ideas into new health solutions for patient treatment and clinical work.

The Innovation Clinic is also the region’s TechTrans unit responsible for handling the region’s invention and patent portfolio in accordance with the researcher patent act. Therefore, the unit works closely with Aalborg University and other TechTrans units in Denmark.

The Innovation Clinic manages a broad portfolio of health inventions and receives about 50 new idea submissions annually. The ideas are usually at an early stage, and therefore the innovation process for health inventions is a long maturation process where ideas are concretized, developed, tested, and documented to ultimately be brought into clinical use as new health solutions. Because of the early stage, a large part of the Innovation Clinic’s work is to help obtain external funding to develop and mature the ideas and establish collaborations with relevant actors.

The Innovation Clinic has, through its work, built up extensive experience with commercializing health innovation and works to build a culture where innovation is integrated into daily clinical practice, and a framework where employees’ ideas can be realized.
