About the job
Are you strong at bringing people and disciplines together around a common goal, and do you have the technical understanding to know when an extra question should be asked? ?
At Spangenberg & Madsen we are seeking an experienced project manager with an HVAC background who will lead technical and cross-disciplinary construction projects.
A little about us
Spangenberg & Madsen is one of Denmark's oldest and most experienced consulting engineering firms. We are passionate about creating sustainable and future-proof solutions within construction and infrastructure, always with quality and collaboration as keywords. With us
you will have a place in an organization with an informal tone, a strong professional environment and a focus on well-being.
Project management close to the technical expertise
In Spangenberg & Madsen, the project manager role is not only about timelines and finances. It is also about understanding the project, creating clear frameworks for the specialists, being close to the client and ensuring that good technical solutions are actually carried out.
You will become part of a cross-disciplinary advisory environment with competencies including, among others, HVAC/MEP, electrical, fire, security, building automation, BIM, energy, indoor climate and sustainability.
We have been advising on technical solutions since 1905, but our approach to projects must continually evolve. Therefore, you can expect to take on responsibility for driving projects and the opportunity to influence how we work.
Your role
As a project manager you will be the hub for your own construction projects and will have responsibility from the early project phases through to delivery. You do not need to design all the solutions yourself. But your HVAC background should enable you to understand the technical relationships, challenge the project and create supportive frameworks for the specialists around you.
You will, among other things,
- lead technical and cross-disciplinary projects from start-up to delivery
- establish project organization, goals and clear areas of responsibility
- manage finances, fees, schedule, resources and quality
- coordinate disciplines and ensure progress in deliverables
- handle agreements and contract relationships
- be a central contact person for the client and other partners
- ensure coherence between design, regulatory matters, procurement and execution
- support quality assurance, risk management and delivery
- contribute to bids and the development of existing and new client relationships.
Who are you?
Your technical background could, for example, be as HVAC/MEP engineer, mechanical engineer, HVAC installer or equivalent.
The most important for us is that you have experience in driving projects to a safe conclusion while understanding the technical reality in which the project team works.
We imagine that you
- have solid experience with project management in the construction industry – preferably from a consulting engineering firm
- have good understanding of HVAC and technical installations
- can manage the project's time, finances, quality and resources
- have experience with client and client-side stakeholder dialogue
- can create structure and clear decisions in complex projects
- have understanding of contract terms and contract management
- communicate clearly and build trust across disciplines and organizations
- take responsibility for both the result and the collaboration on the way there
Having knowledge of ABR18/AB18, BIM/ICT, commissioning and cross-disciplinary design management is an advantage.
What you get at S&M
- independent responsibility and short decision paths
- opportunity to shape your impact on projects and the project organization
- a strong network of technical specialists to lean on
- close contact with clients and builders
- opportunity for professional and personal development
- a collegial environment with room for ambition and humor
- focus on flexibility and balance between work and personal life
- attractive terms of employment with pension and health insurance
- professional and social activities across the company.
We call our approach Advice in harmony, f or a good project requires both strong professional skills and good collaboration between people.
