About the company

Kjærsgaard & Simonsen ApS is a solid North Jutland construction company with more than 50 years of experience in the carpentry and masonry trades. Based in Vodskov, the company handles both large and small tasks with a particular focus on renovation and new construction.

The company has around 70 employees and works, among other things, on larger carpentry contracts, main contracts, renovations and terrace-house projects for both private and professional clients. The business is largely built on long-standing relationships, and the ambition is to be decent, solution-oriented and easy to collaborate with, for customers, advisors, employees and subcontractors.

Primary tasks

You will be involved early in the projects and must ensure a professional and efficient execution from calculation to completion. The role spans widely and requires you to have an eye for the finances, the practical execution and the collaboration around the project. Your primary tasks will include:

• Prepare calculations and bids.
• Plan projects and ensure the necessary staffing.
• Control finances, progress and quality.
• Coordinate tradespeople and subcontractors.
• Handle procurement and negotiations with partners.
• Identify and follow up on extra work and changes.
• Manage dialogue with customers, advisors and other stakeholders.
• Follow the projects through to delivery and final invoicing.

Your qualifications

We are looking for a project manager with solid construction understanding and experience close to practical execution. You have taken on responsibility for projects and have a natural commercial sense, where you have an eye for the economics, the good solution and the long-term relationship with the customer. We imagine that you:

• Have a practical construction background, preferably as a carpenter combined with a education as a building designer or similar.
• Have experience as a project manager, construction manager, contract manager, foreman or from a similar role.
• Understand calculation, bids and project economics.
• Have good commercial sense and can protect the project's finances without making the collaboration unnecessarily conflictful.
• Work independently and pragmatically and can create structure around your projects.
• Communicate clearly and respectfully with tradespeople, customers, advisors and subcontractors.
• Take problems in stride and seek sparring when needed.
• Thrive in an informal organization where collaboration, integrity and shared results are highly valued.
