Project Manager with Technical Background for Complex Projects in Operation

We are looking for an experienced project manager with a technical background who can create an overview, drive progress and ensure a good collaboration in complex renovation projects. You must be able to navigate environments with many stakeholders, existing installations, limited space and stringent requirements for planning, safety and coordination.

You will not necessarily be the one who designs the solutions. But your technical understanding enables you to ask the right questions, challenge the project assumptions and ensure that the solutions can be implemented in practice.

Short about the job

As a project manager you will be responsible for driving technically demanding projects from the initial clarifications to design, execution and handover.

The projects are often carried out in buildings and facilities where operations must be maintained during the renovation. This places special demands on planning, communication and understanding of the consequences the project decisions have for users, operations staff and technical systems.

You will work closely with clients, users, operations, advisors, architects, contractors and authorities. Your key task is to bring the project together and ensure that economy, time, quality and stakeholders are aligned.

Projects with operation as an active player

You will among other things work with renovations and modernization in airports, transport buildings, industry, production and other installation-heavy environments.

Here the work cannot be planned in isolation from daily operations. Access conditions, safety, passenger or user flow, existing installations and critical functions must be considered from the start.

It is therefore important that you genuinely find this complexity interesting. You do not see operations as an obstacle, but as a fundamental precondition that must be understood and embedded in the project solutions.

Your profile

We imagine that you

• Have experience as a project manager or design manager.
• Have a technical background in areas such as HVAC, ventilation, CTS, electrical, construction or installations.
• Have experience with renovations in existing buildings or facilities.
• Thrive in projects where operations must be maintained during execution.
• Can manage finances, schedule, quality and stakeholders.
• Have understanding of technical installations and cross-disciplinary dependencies.
• Can maintain an overview when assumptions change.
• Communicate clearly and respectfully with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Can translate complex issues into clear decisions and actions.
• Takes responsibility and follows through on agreements.

Experience from airports, transport, industry, hospitals, laboratories, data centres or other operation-critical environments is an advantage, but not a requirement. The crucial thing is that you understand working in existing conditions and are motivated by the extra planning and coordination that comes with it.

Your primary tasks

• Lead projects from start-up to handover.
• Ensure progress, finances, schedule and quality.
• Plan work in areas that must continue to operate.
• Coordinate technical disciplines such as ventilation, VVS, electrical, CTS, structures and fire.
• Manage project interfaces and dependencies.
• Lead design-, status- and coordination meetings.
• Ensure clear decisions, responsibility and follow-up.
• Handle stakeholders with different needs and priorities.
• Collaborate closely with the client, users and the operations organization.
• Follow the project through design, tendering, execution, supervision and handover.
• Ensure that the solutions are build- and constructible.
• Contribute to planning of milestones, relocations and temporary solutions.
