BID MANAGER FOR COMPLEX BID PROJECTS

At Pentair, the bid process is regarded as a crucial prerequisite for a successful project progression. You will therefore play a key role in the sales organization even before project start in a role where you create overview, structure and predictability.

Key position within engineering, estimation and coordination

Based in Fredericia, you will become an important part of the bidding phase – from the initial rough estimates to the final firm bid. You will work closely with global salespeople, process experts and engineers.

There is talk of a highly versatile job with both technical and commercial aspects, strong internal processes, access to good IT tools for project management and good support and onboarding from competent colleagues.

Your primary task will be to prepare technically complex bids, including to

• Keep track of all aspects of the bid projects
• Review tender material
• Participate in the technical review
• Participate in configuring customer-specific solutions
• If needed, participate in customer meetings together with the salespeople
• Obtain specifications for bid material both internally and from subcontractors
• Calculate costs and price
• Prepare bid documents and ensure compliance with all deadlines
• Contribute to the development and improvement of sales tools and bidding processes.

You have a technical background and are motivated by creating structure and overview

You likely have a technical education as a chemical, export, energy or mechanical engineer. You have several years of experience from a similar role in bidding and calculation in a larger project company, or you have developed your competencies as a project manager or within purchasing or supply chain.

It is not decisive which specific industry you come from. It is however a plus if you have worked with equipment for the food industry. You will primarily work on projects within the beverage segment, where customers include the world’s largest breweries and soft drink producers.

You thrive in a daily life where you connect the threads from many stakeholders. You are comfortable in the tension between structure and transformations, where you create an overview of complex technical solutions in a bid process that can span a long time.

To succeed in the job it is important that you are persistent and convincing. You manage to create progress and prioritize tasks, so the company uses its efforts where the opportunities to achieve success are greatest.

It is a prerequisite that you write and speak English fluently. Qualifications in other languages would be a plus.
