About the job
We are seeking a psychomotor therapist who will bring professional knowledge about the body, senses and the nervous system into play to create safety, well-being and development for our children and young people
Who are we?
Fogedvænget is a highly specialized 24-hour department in Hedensted under the Special Area Children and Youth (SBU) in the Central Denmark Region. We currently have seven lovely children and youths with complex intellectual disabilities and pervasive developmental disorders, primarily with autistic traits.
Several of our children and youths have no verbal language and complex behavioral challenges. Our core task is to offer a highly specialized intervention where predictability, low-stimulation and structure create the framework for each child’s life mastery. We work purposefully with Low Arousal, LA2-U and alternative and augmentative communication (AAC). Our children in the department need substantial support, including care.
How does your professional expertise come into play with us?
We want to strengthen our multidisciplinary approach. As a psychomotor therapist at Fogedvænget you will participate in the daily staffing and the educational work, while also bringing your specific professional profile into play:
- Sensory integration and a calm nervous system: You will have ample opportunity to work purposefully with sensory integration and bodily regulation for a target group with major sensory and emotional challenges.
- From analysis to everyday practice: You should be able to see opportunities for the individual child’s development, prepare sensory profiles and translate them into concrete pedagogical approaches and sub-goals in daily life.
- Communication and interdisciplinarity: You will become a key person in communicating the bodily and sensory strategies to the rest of the contact team, so that the effort is coordinated and holistic.
What do we expect from you?
- You are a trained psychomotor therapist.
- You are keen to work interdisciplinary and develop yourself within your field in a specialized area.
- You are calm, present and authentic – even when things intensify, and a child needs help with affect regulation through their daily life.
- It is advantageous if you have training in the "Sensory Profile", but it is not a requirement.
We offer you
- A structured introduction program with thorough orientation, training and an internal mentoring scheme.
- Dedicated time for subject-specific work.
- A workplace with high professional standards, where we value a strong work community and have each other’s back.
- A visible, approachable and clear department and service leadership at eye level.
Salary and employment terms
Salary and employment terms in accordance with the applicable collective agreement between Danish Psychomotor Therapists and Danish Regions.
A child and criminal record check will be obtained upon employment.
The position is on average 37 hours per week, with the possibility of part-time if desired.
The working hours are shifts with day and evening work as well as every other weekend. Weekend work will generally be on alternating weeks.
Practical information
- Application deadline: Sunday, 22 November 2026.
- Start date: 1 January 2027 or as soon as possible.
- Employment interviews: Expected to be held in week 48 2026.
