Eventyrhuset is seeking a trained educator with experience in Rudolf Steiner education for our kindergarten.

🌿 The position is 37 hours per week and is desired to be filled by January 1, 2027.

Eventyrhuset is an innovative Rudolf Steiner institution, where we stand firmly on the values and view of humans in Steiner pedagogy. At the same time, we are curious about our practice and about how the pedagogy can live and develop in a modern daily life.

We work from a view of humanity where every child is seen as a unique human being. The child must have the opportunity to develop at their own pace with support from present adults and through pedagogical learning environments that take the individual child's needs, development and possibilities as a starting point.

We place emphasis on presence, safety and clear adults. We cherish childhood, play and imagination and create a recognizable everyday life with rhythm, song, storytelling, practical tasks, seasonal celebrations and plenty of time for free play.

Nature and the rhythm of the year have a natural place in our pedagogy. Children must have the opportunity to feel, sense and experience the world around them.

We believe that children learn through imitation. Therefore, it is very important to us that the adults around the children are authentic, engaged and aware of their role as role models.

Who are we looking for?

We are seeking a trained educator who has experience with and knowledge of Rudolf Steiner pedagogy .

You do not necessarily need to be a trained Rudolf Steiner educator, but we expect you to have knowledge of the pedagogy and an understanding of its values and worldview.

It will be a great advantage if storytelling, morning gathering and the recognizable rhythm are already natural in your pedagogical toolbox . If not, you should have the desire and courage to learn it. With us we tell stories, sing and create a morning circle with the children, and it is an important part of our daily life and our community.

We are looking for someone who

• has experience with Rudolf Steiner pedagogy and wants to continue working with it
• can tell stories, sing and create a living and safe morning circle - or has a genuine desire to learn it
• is academically grounded and can translate their pedagogical knowledge into practice
• is mature, robust and accommodating and can stay calm, even when a situation becomes demanding
• can work with children with special needs and sees the child behind the behavior
• can accommodate children who react differently and need something else or more than the rest of the group
• can work independently, take responsibility and maintain an overview in a busy daily life
• can be a clear and reassuring adult that children can mirror themselves in
• has an eye for both the individual child and the whole group
• can create clear frames and good pedagogical learning environments
• sees the value in play, imagination, nature, rhythm and repetition
• actively participates in both pedagogical and practical tasks
• is stable, responsible and contributes positively to the community
• wishes for a close and respectful collaboration with colleagues, management and parents
• desires professional reflection, sparring and continued development of our pedagogical practice.

We also have children who call for something special from us as adults.

Therefore it is important that you are robust and accommodating in your pedagogical work. You must be able to stay calm and clear when a child is having difficulties, and be able to look behind the child's reactions and behavior.

We do not expect you to solve everything alone. We expect you to be curious, to receive sparring and to help find the pedagogical approaches that best support the child.

We are looking for an educator who can both stand firmly in Steiner education and at the same time be curious about the children and the reality we are in.
