About the job

Re-advertisement - Educator for Satellitten and SFO’ro – special offer at Antvorskov School

We have an intake of students and are therefore seeking another educator for Satellitten. Do you want to be part of a well-functioning special provision with high professional capital? A place where staff are passionate about their work, while also enjoying themselves? A place where professional discussions, curiosity and development go hand in hand with good laughter? Then perhaps you are the one we are looking for for a full-time position in Satellitten and SFO’ro.

We are looking for a trained educator who is passionate about making a difference for children and young people with special needs. It would be very helpful if you have experience with the special educational field – and otherwise you should be eager to gain it.

About Satellitten

Satellitten is Antvorskov School's special provision for normally gifted students who have challenges with social interaction, communication, imagination as well as behavioral and emotional regulation. The students are referred from the entire Slagelse Municipality.

As part of Satellitten you will have the opportunity to support and develop the students' academic, social and personal skills. We have students from kindergarten to 9th grade and work closely across classes and subject groups. We do not, for example, hold traditional breaks, but instead have break workshops where students from all year groups participate. As an educator in Satellitten you are therefore not only part of a class, but part of a complete special education offering.

With us, academic learning, well-being, formation and personal development are closely linked. We work with clear and secure frameworks – but also with professional curiosity to try new approaches when a student needs us to do something differently.

About SFO’ro

SFO’ro is part of the general SFO at Antvorskov. SFO’ro is a provision for referred children from Satellitten and NEST classes. SFO’ro’s purpose is to provide the children with a structured and predictable SFO time, where there are adults who know the children’s challenges. SFO’ro will work pedagogically with these children’s zone of proximal development in collaboration with the class team.

SFO’ro is based on the NEST principles in the form of a view of people and the idea that people are more alike than different, as well as on the Low Arousal principles, where the pedagogical framework starts from adjusting demands to the child’s prerequisites.

About the job

  • Satellitten adapts continuously to the student group, so you should be able to see yourself working with students at all grade levels. We will obviously consider individual competencies and preferences when forming teams, but the students' needs are prioritized highest
  • The special educational, developmental and well-being aspects are just as important as teaching
  • Our students have different prerequisites and needs, so the willingness and ability to differentiate teaching are essential
  • You will receive support to eagerly try different didactic and pedagogical approaches to how the individual student learns best
  • It is important that you are independent and creative and thrive with students of different ages
  • You will collaborate closely with both educators, teachers and management to create a structured and supportive everyday life for the students
  • You must contribute to students experiencing safety and predictability, which enables them to develop their social and academic skills
  • You will be part of a dedicated team that works with targeted pedagogical and didactic approaches that take into account the students’ individual needs and strengths
  • The work requires that you can support the students’ social interaction and work with their emotional and behavioral regulation through, for example, visual and structured approaches
  • The working hours are within the time frame 06:30 to 17:00 on weekdays, and you may be involved in holiday care in SFO.

We are looking for an educator who

  • has experience with the special education field or a strong interest in developing within it
  • can establish safe and trusting relationships with students who need support for social contact and regulation
  • sees good school-home collaboration as a cornerstone of the work and meets parents with respect and recognition
  • is flexible, patient and able to adapt activities and teaching to support the students' development and well-being
  • thrives in collaborating in a team where open dialogue and professional sparring are valued
  • can work in a structured way and has an interest in visual and other special educational approaches that support students’ need for predictability
  • wants to work with the students in other learning environments than the classroom, e.g., outdoor school, excursions and teaching outside the traditional school framework.

What you get with us

You will become part of a staff group with high professionalism and strong dedication to the students. We prioritize professional sparring, close collaboration and room to be curious about our own and others’ practice. All teams have supervision every month.

We have high expectations of each other because our students and their families deserve high quality. But we also emphasize a workplace where there is room for diversity, good ideas and humor – and where you do not face the challenging tasks alone.
