About the job

Do you want to help create a child environment where all children can succeed as they are?

We are looking for an engaged and professionally strong resource pedagogue, who is passionate about creating good conditions for children's wellbeing, development and participation in the community.

About Mælkevejen

At Mælkevejen we believe that all children come with unique resources, personalities and ways of being in the world. Our task as adults is to create a safe and developmental child environment where children feel seen, understood and valued – and where there is room for diversity.

We work purposefully to create inclusive communities, where all children have the opportunity to succeed with who they are. We do this by working with sensitive interactions and meaningful community life, where adults take responsibility for creating participation opportunities for all children.

Our pedagogical approach is based on ICDP (International Child Development Programme), where the relationship between child and adult is the foundation for the child’s wellbeing, development and learning. We meet the children with curiosity, recognition and a resource-oriented view of childhood and work from an understanding that it is the adults' responsibility to adjust the framework and create the best possibilities for all children to be part of the community.

We focus on early intervention and on detecting and acting on children’s needs in close cooperation with colleagues, parents and multidisciplinary partners. At the same time, we know that the good life of a child is also created through play, warmth, humor, curiosity and adults who can be inspired together with the children.

About the position

As a resource pedagogue you are attached to the entire Mælkevejen and work across all rooms. You will become a central professional resource, supporting both children, staff and learning environments through sparring, guidance and targeted pedagogical interventions.

There are already two resource pedagogues in Mælkevejen - you will therefore join a close team with two skilled resource pedagogues as your nearest and closest sparring partners.

You do not have the responsibility for a fixed child group, but you move where the need is greatest. Your task is to support the pedagogical quality in the whole house and contribute to all children having the best possible opportunities to thrive, develop and participate actively in the community.

You have a crucial role in early intervention and inclusive learning environments. You translate pedagogical and special pedagogical knowledge into practice and support colleagues through professional sparring, reflection and guidance. At the same time you help ensure that actions are systematic, coherent and anchored in daily practice.

We already have a skilled and experienced resource pedagogue in Mælkevejen, with whom you will enter into a close and committed collaboration. Together you will help strengthen the shared pedagogical direction, share knowledge and support the development of inclusive learning environments across the entire kindergarten.

You will become professional sparring partners for each other and have the opportunity to qualify actions, reflect on practice and together create even stronger frameworks for the children’s wellbeing and development.

As a resource pedagogue you are a visible and trust-building professional who leads the way in developing the pedagogical practice. You are able to create followership through strong relationships, clear communication and an appreciative approach to your colleagues. You inspire not by having all the answers, but by being curious, reflective and by translating professional knowledge into everyday action.

You have the courage to take initiative and set direction, even when daily life is complex, or when situations call for quick professional judgments. You can stay calm, create an overview and support colleagues in finding common solutions when a child or a group challenges the pedagogical practice. You dare to lead from the front, facilitate professional reflections and contribute with new perspectives – always with respect for your colleagues’ experiences and with a focus on creating a common professional foundation.

Humor, calm and a positive mindset in a complex everyday life

We work in a daily life with high pace, many different needs and complex pedagogical challenges, where tasks often require both professionalism, flexibility and the ability to maintain an overview.

As a resource pedagogue it is crucial that you can meet a changing everyday life with calm, curiosity and a belief that there are possibilities and solutions – even when situations are demanding. You must be able to create security around you, contribute to a positive mood and help find direction when the complexity grows.

A smile, a laugh and the ability to see possibilities together with the colleagues help create energy and job satisfaction – and at the same time strengthen our ability to succeed with the important task we have around the children.

Your responsibilities

  • Support the development of inclusive learning environments across Mælkevejen.
  • Contribute to early detection and preventive interventions.
  • Advise and spar with colleagues on pedagogical strategies, relationships, structure and participation opportunities.
  • Lead in pedagogical practice and be a professional role model who translates knowledge into action.
  • Facilitate professional reflections and contribute to the development of a shared pedagogical direction.
  • Take leadership in complex pedagogical situations and support colleagues in creating calm, overview and actionable options.
  • Participate in targeted pedagogical processes with children and child groups when needed.
  • Contribute to documentation, evaluation and follow-up on interventions.
  • Work closely with management on the development of pedagogical quality.
  • Engage in an appreciative collaboration with parents.
  • Actively participate in multidisciplinary collaboration with, among others, PPR, speech and hearing consultant, occupational therapist, physiotherapist and psychologist.
  • Contribute to knowledge sharing and competence development among staff.

We are looking for a resource pedagogue who

  • Is a trained pedagogue - preferably with experience with children and families in vulnerable positions
  • Has experience with or strong interest in inclusive pedagogy, early intervention and special-pedagogical approaches.
  • Has knowledge of or interest in working from ICDP.
  • Can create followership and motivate colleagues through professionalism, trust and strong relationships.
  • Has the courage to take leadership in complex pedagogical situations and contribute to creating calm, direction and shared solutions.
  • Thrives with facilitating professional reflections and development processes close to practice.
  • Can balance a guiding role with close and equal collaboration with colleagues.
  • Is clear, proactive and persistent, while meeting others with curiosity, respect and humility.
  • Has a positive mindset and can remain calm in complex situations
  • Has strong relational skills and can build trust with both children, colleagues and parents.

We offer

  • An exciting role with great opportunity to influence the pedagogical development across the entire Mælkevejen.
  • A team of a total of three resource pedagogues in the same house
  • A central role as a culture-bearer and sparring partner for colleagues and management.
  • A workplace where ICDP forms the shared pedagogical reference framework.
  • Good opportunities for cross-disciplinary sparring with, among others, PPR and other relevant partners.
  • An engaged colleague community with focus on reflection, knowledge sharing and共同 development.
  • Management that prioritizes presence, development and high quality in the pedagogical practice.
  • A flexible work environment with a high degree of trust, where you have the opportunity to independently set the framework and structure your tasks.
