Road Engineer for the Operations Department

Do you have experience with road maintenance, project management and contractor collaboration? And would you like to help ensure and develop the municipality's roads, sidewalks and cycle paths?

We are seeking an engaged and independent road engineer for our road area in Gladsaxe Municipality's Operations Department.

You will become part of a workplace in development, where we focus on professional quality, structure and good collaboration. You will play a central role in planning and implementing the municipality's road maintenance and will work closely with colleagues, contractors and other professional areas in the municipality.

Your duties

You will have a diverse daily life with responsibility for both planning, coordination and follow-up.

• Planning and project management
• Planning and execution of asphalt works, sidewalk renovations, paving and lane markings.
• Project management of larger road renovation tasks.
• Assessment and prioritization of maintenance needs on the municipal road areas.
• Registration and planning of road maintenance in RoSy.
• Procurement and contractor collaboration
• Preparation and execution of tenders within asphalt, paving, cleaning, sweeping and lane markings as well as trucking.
• Coordination, management and supervision of external contractors.
• Collaboration with utility companies and other actors on trenching and construction work.
• Economy and cross-functional collaboration
• Budget follow-up and financial management of maintenance tasks.
• Preparation of professional notes and technical assessments.
• Contribute to updating trenching regulations and procedures for trench permits.
• Collaboration with Traffic and Mobility as well as follow-up on relevant citizen inquiries.

We expect that you

• Have a relevant technical education as engineer, land surveyor, technician or equivalent.
• Have experience with operation and maintenance of roads, sidewalks and bike paths.
• Have knowledge of procurement, project management and contractor management.
• Work in a structured, independent manner and have an eye for both quality and economy.
• Be good at collaborating and communicating with different professional groups.
• Hold a driver's license for passenger car.
• Familiarity with RoSy, pavement dimensioning and municipal road management is an advantage.

Gladsaxe Municipality's Operations Department handles operation and maintenance of the municipality's public areas.

In the road area we work purposefully to ensure well-functioning roads, sidewalks and cycle paths for the benefit of the municipality's residents. We place emphasis on professionalism, integrity and good collaboration across the organisation.

The Operations Department is a department under the City and Environment Administration. The department is organized into a Secretariat, and in 4 operating areas - Roads, Municipal Properties, Nature and Green Roads, Workshop and Recycling.
