Road engineer, traffic engineer or similar for Allerød Municipality

About the job

In Roads and Traffic we work with the full spectrum within the road and traffic area. We are looking for a colleague who would like to be part of both the daily operations and the more long-term development tasks.

Your tasks may include

• Authority handling within road legislation
• Planning and execution of road and traffic technical projects
• Operation and maintenance of the municipality's roads, paths and traffic facilities
• Supervision of contractors and external consultants
• Handling of citizen inquiries and dialogue with stakeholders
• Preparation of political cases and briefing notes
• Traffic safety work and traffic analyses
• Responsible for contracts and collaboration with external suppliers, for example in asphalt maintenance

Depending on your qualifications and interests, we can tailor the tasks so you get the opportunity for both professional development and influence on your own portfolio.

About you

We imagine that you are an engineer or have another relevant technical background within traffic, mobility or roads.

It is an advantage if you

• Have experience with road and traffic area or an interest in working within the field
• Have technical understanding and can translate professional issues into practical solutions
• Work analytically and structured
• Thrive with both independent tasks and close collaboration with colleagues and partners
• Communicate clearly and professionally both verbally and in writing
• Are proactive, responsible and good at building constructive relationships

Experience from a politically governed organization is an advantage, but not a requirement.

Work experience is a clear plus, but if you are a recent graduate with willingness to learn new things you are more than welcome to apply.

About us

Roads and Traffic today consists of four employees who work with among other things construction projects, traffic planning, traffic safety, public transport, excavation permits, authority tasks as well as operation and maintenance of the municipality's roads and paths.

You will become the fifth employee in the team and part of Technology and Operations, which consists of about 25 employees at the town hall and around 80 employees in total.

We work closely with the municipality's other departments, including Planning and Building, Nature, Environment and Climate as well as Park and Road. We place emphasis on high professionalism, sparring and a good work environment with room for humor and an informal tone.
