We specialize in the design, development, production and commissioning of advanced acoustic systems and are based in Slangerup. For our Supply Chain department we are now seeking a:

Senior Buyer

Strategic and operational procurement – advanced technology

Can you see yourself as the link between our suppliers and a high-tech development and production company?

You will obtain a central role in Supply Chain, with a high level of contact with both suppliers and internal collaborators. You will ensure optimal agreements and a good dialogue with the suppliers.

You will become part of a team of dedicated and professional colleagues who work closely with, among others, planning, R&D and other internal functions. You are involved in ensuring the execution of a strategic development of the procurement function, and the position also includes responsibility for a smaller number of product categories, where you will optimize and drive procurement of both standard and drawing-specific items. It requires independent judgment and initiative in connection with assessing specifications, obtaining quotes and placing purchasing orders.

Your areas of responsibility will include, among others

• Ensure deliveries of the right quality, at the right time and at the best price – in close collaboration with experienced colleagues, where you take ownership of your purchasing activities.
• Develop and obtain approval for category strategies for your areas of responsibility and hold quarterly business reviews with key suppliers to strengthen the collaboration.
• Create and maintain purchasing data in our ERP system (IFS) and follow up on and escalate to suppliers when necessary.
• Actively participate in the maintenance and development of Teledyne’s supplier portfolio and stay informed about new opportunities, market conditions and trends.
• Prepare tender specifications and other necessary documentation in connection with operations and project procurement as well as our strategic sourcing initiatives.
• Support internal and external audits.
• Support LEAN workflows and actively participate in maintaining, developing and executing our purchasing and sourcing procedures as well as optimization projects and similar.

Experience with procurement, supplier collaboration and business understanding

You may have experience as a Category Manager, but miss the daily dialogue and connection to operations – or you come from an operational purchasing function and are ready to take the next step and work more strategically. We are open to different types of backgrounds, but you will match wholly or partly the following:

• Education in Supply Chain, logistics, purchasing or a technical background.
• Experience with procurement or Supply Chain; experience with purchasing drawing-specific items is a benefit but not a requirement.
• Experience from a production company and a good understanding of and experience with ERP systems.
• Thrives in the interplay between operational purchasing and more strategic projects
• Experience in preparing and conducting negotiations and subsequently anchoring them in a contract/agreement.
• Experience working under time pressure and prioritizing against tight deadlines.
• Strong written and oral communication skills in both Danish and English.
• Strategic thinking, strong business sense and a proactive, goal-oriented approach that can handle pressure and remove barriers.
• Proactive, eager to learn and curious with a LEAN mindset, who thrives on taking responsibility, creating structure and building good relationships in an open and effective team culture.
