About the job

Senior Singing Consultant for Sangens Hus

Motivated by helping others learn and develop? Do you have strong singing expertise and do you understand how to bridge to other disciplines? Can you translate knowledge into concrete practice – on the floor and in materials? And are you keen to promote singing in Denmark through projects and initiatives that have singing at the center?

Then perhaps you are the one we are looking for.

Sangens Hus is a national cultural institution whose purpose is to promote singing in Denmark . We contribute to welfare solutions through a range of projects, courses and networks with singing at the center and by spreading knowledge of the importance of singing for the individual and for society.

In all our projects we work to upskill professionals, e.g., educators, teachers, choir conductors, care staff, volunteers, employees in municipal social areas, etc., so they themselves are able to pass on the good properties of singing. We talk about “training the trainer”, so professionals are able to work with singing among different target groups.

Your tasks

As a senior singing consultant your tasks are to upskill professionals, but you also get to task to equip other singing consultants for this work and thus ensure the quality of the singing-professional effort Sangens Hus delivers.

You will become part of Sangens Hus fixed team of singing consultants, consisting of four people, of which two are senior singing consultants, who are singing professionally responsible for respectively the 0-6 year age group and health and adult area. You will have particular responsibility to contribute to development of the singing professional practice in our various tasks and projects in the school area. You will have close cooperation with the team’s senior singing consultants, and several tasks will also cross across these areas.

Your primary tasks will be

  • Contribute to development of practice “on the floor” in projects in collaboration with project managers
  • Contribute to development of courses and initiatives targeted at the school sector in collaboration with the course team
  • Deliver presentations and workshops in project and course settings
  • Prepare materials for teaching and dissemination, printed and digital
  • Enter into collaborations internally in the house and in external networks and partnerships
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of the singing consultant professional practice at Sangens Hus

We are looking for a person who

  • Has strong singing expertise, preferably in combination with pedagogical professional background
  • Thrives well with teaching, sharing knowledge and providing professional sparring – both 1:1 and with groups
  • Has solid experience with the school sector – e.g., as a teacher, consultant or practice developer
  • Is relationship-capable and can bridge from own professional field to the recipient's perspective and professional background
  • Is open and engaged in own learning processes as well as others
  • Has experience with project and development work
  • Is also interested in tasks within the program for singing and health as well as the adult sector
  • Can take responsibility for own tasks and time management
  • Engages in the team and contributes with ideas and input
  • Is prepared for periods with considerable travel around the country
