Social and Health Care Assistant for mixed shifts, with work every other weekend at Markusgården

We can see that our residents have a greater need for care and assistance, therefore we are looking for more social and health helpers. You will join the journey with holistic care at the nursing home, where we have the whole person in focus and where multidisciplinary collaboration is a given.

Markusgården consists of 73 apartments, distributed in eight housing units, all residences are for citizens with a dementia diagnosis or dementia-like behavior. We work with people who, for a large part, have several health issues. We hold triage once a week, where residents with various problems are discussed. Triage is in collaboration with the assistant manager and the nursing home nurse.

We are an educational site for social and health care assistant students, both in regular and psychiatry internships, so there is a great opportunity to help develop future health professionals, and we will also focus on your development. We also ensure a thorough introduction to our workplace.

We prioritize both the lived and the living life in a homely and safe environment. We work from a rehabilitative approach with help to self-help. All professional groups work closely together in daily life and the focus is that we think together about solving the core task. There are many different tasks, therefore there are many different professional groups that together solve the core task.

We are different professional groups, this to create good perspectives for working with residents. The current professional groups are: Social and health helpers/assistants, pedagogical assistants, occupational therapists, and nurses.

• You are educated as a social- and health helper with a desire to work with people who are cognitively challenged and who largely also have physical illnesses
• You value your own and colleagues' professionalism highly, and are happy to share/receive professional knowledge

• You are adaptable and can maintain an overview in acute situations
• You are organized and have a sense of order

Professional competencies

• Focus on working rehabilitatively with our residents
• Carry out tasks in accordance with the Elderly Act principles of holistic care and according to Aalborg Municipality's guidelines
• Contact with internal and external partners, e.g. meal service, podiatrist, hairdresser, etc.
• Participate in resident conferences, as needed
• Document according to applicable guidelines in our care system CURA

Personal competencies

• You are responsible and good at collaborating across professional boundaries
• You can work independently and are curious about the tasks
• You must be able to engage in a positive collaboration with residents and their relatives based on life history, their wishes and needs
• You take responsibility in the social community and in creating a good working environment
• You should have a desire to work with elderly and frail people, people with cognitive challenges and with mild psychiatric disorders

Salary and employment terms

According to the applicable collective agreement for social and health personnel (73.01) which is concluded between KL and FOA union.

Prior to final employment, a criminal record check must be obtained and references collected.
