As a social- and health care helper trainee in Gentofte Municipality you will learn, among other things, to support and motivate the citizen to a healthy lifestyle which can counteract disease and loneliness. You will be close to the people you work with, and become good at reacting and observing changes and learn what it means when the citizen needs to be supported in the best possible way. We are a diverse municipality with many nationalities, cultures and social backgrounds.

You will work with other professional groups such as nurses and social- and health care assistants. You will also collaborate with specialists in areas such as hygiene, dementia, nutrition and rehabilitation.

Your daily life will be filled with exciting and challenging tasks within care, support and practical help. You are e.g. the one the citizen starts their day with, ensures the medication is given and that the citizen has the best opportunities to have a good life. You make plans for the care and training together with your colleagues and the citizen. Training and activities are also part of the job in collaboration with the citizen.

Education The training lasts 1 year and 2 months. You rotate between school periods at SOSU H and in the apprenticeship period in Gentofte Municipality.

The apprenticeship periods take place in care homes and in home care. If you go into home care, you cycle between visits, and it is expected that you can cycle safely in traffic and provide your own bicycle and bicycle helmet.

How to apply Before you apply as a social- and health care helper trainee in Gentofte Municipality, you must have passed foundation course 2 or be in the process of foundation course 2 at SOSU H.

REMEMBER to attach the foundation course certificate or admission letter from SOSU H.

Løn- og ansættelsesforhold You must be in education 37 hours per week, and you will be paid when you are in school periods and in the apprenticeship period. If you are 25 years or older, you receive adult trainee pay.

To be employed in Gentofte Municipality you must allow us to obtain your public criminal record (police clearance). If you are not a Danish citizen, you must have a valid residence and work permit.
