About the job

If you as a social- and health care assistant are seeking one of the broadest and most developing specialities, and at the same time wish to join a stable and inclusive staff group that takes pride in delivering nursing of the highest quality, then this is the place for you.

We are looking for a skilled social- and health care assistant with an interest in ongoing professional and personal development for the Medical Ward 2. The position is with mixed shifts; day shift and either evening shift or night shift.

Would you like to become part of a ward with an exciting and broad specialty, as well as a good and inclusive staff group, with a really good work environment? Would you like to collaborate on and contribute to our good patient pathways?

Then you are exactly the person we are looking for!

We are a newly renovated medical ward with primarily geriatric and internal medical patients. We have an associated Clinic for Geriatric Diseases which, among other things, sees geriatric patients from the Emergency Department on MS2 and follows up on complex pathways after hospitalization. Furthermore, the Clinic for Geriatric Diseases has a large outpatient activity with, for example, fall assessment and dementia assessment.

The geriatric medical area is characterized by a holistic view of the patient, both regarding treatment of disease and the social situation. Among our patients you will meet a wide range of acute illnesses and chronic conditions. You will largely perform the basic nursing, and after satisfactory training you will manage complex pathways with ward rounds and discharge planning. We work very interprofessionally and cross-sectorally, and we take pride in being thorough. We work in teams with time-out as an important component of the day’s work.

At Medical Ward 2 we will warmly welcome you, and you will be assigned to our two introduction nurses, who tailor the introduction to your competencies and learning pace. The introduction offers close supervision with the introduction nurses and other experienced staff. We have a good culture of well‑being with a high degree of psychological safety on the ward, where it is always possible to get sparring and help.

What exciting opportunities do we offer for you?

  • Exciting work with challenges and responsibility, where we base things on your potential.
  • Opportunity for deepening within selected areas of interest relevant to the elderly medical patient.
  • Competence development with participation in relevant professional forums, courses, and including the education "Acute Nursing for the Inpatient Patient on the Medical Department" and the “Continuing education in geriatrics”.
  • A ward with high professionalism and a focus on good patient pathways
  • Close collaboration with our coordinators, specialty managers, development nurse discharge coordinator and cross-disciplinary colleagues.
  • Close collegial and friendly togetherness and a good tone, also with humor, where we collectively lift the daily tasks.

We are looking for a colleague who

  • Has strong professional skills and a reflective approach.
  • Wants to learn new things and develop.
  • Wants to contribute to the development and implementation of new knowledge for the benefit of our patients and relatives
  • has an eye for the patient and relative perspective.
  • Is approachable and can work both independently and with others
  • Wants to join a staff group where we take pride in good dialogue, good humor and good togetherness, both internally and with our partners
  • Wants to contribute to a good work environment
  • Is flexible regarding shift work within reasonable limits

We offer a thorough introductory process with a focus primarily on the geriatric specialty and with start as soon as possible after agreement. You will join after the basic introduction in the normal rotation, and we are flexible regarding shift planning. The positions include shifts every 3rd weekend and shift work in two- or three-shift systems if you wish. The positions are 37 hours per week.
