About the job

Autism Center Skive, afdeling for botilbuddet Bilstrupvej 27 seeks a social- and health care assistant for a permanent position.

Due to organizational changes in several of our houses, we are seeking a social- and health care assistant for a permanent position at Autism Center Skive.

About the workplace

Autism Center Skive is the Municipality of Skive's center for interventions for adults with autism, and includes among other things living facilities, residential care and employment and activity offers for people with autism.

The position is based at Bilstrupvej 27 A-E, a 24-hour residential facility under SEL §85/ABL §105 and §108. The facility consists of five houses, with space for a total of 39 residents.

The target group is people with autism spectrum disorders, and physical and/or psychological comorbidity disorders may occur, as well as a lower developmental age than biological age to a varying degree.

The staff group is multidisciplinary and includes, among others, pedagogues, social- and health care assistants, occupational therapists, pedagogical assistants and a music therapist.

The workplace is characterized by an informal tone, where we get along well together.

The Bilstrupvej facility is relatively new and is a merger of several offers, and we are well underway in building common cultures and workflows to create a strong common VI (us).

From 1 October we began a restructuring, where we have moved from four to five houses and have expanded with four places. We are in the process of moving new residents in, and you will become part of that process.

Extensive competence development has been initiated, and we are therefore in the process of implementing several professional tools and methods, of which you will be an active participant.

The advertised position is spread across all the houses. You can expect to be primarily connected to one house with a combination employment at another house. Staff in House A also cover House E as their primary assignment.

About the expectations

The core task of the Social Department in Skive Municipality is

”In interaction with the citizen, we create opportunities for development, well-being and mastery of one’s own life.”

Therefore, you are expected, together with your colleagues, to collaborate with residents, relatives, social workers and other relevant parties to create a life in well-being and with a focus on mastery and development for each resident. We focus on the residents' hopes and dreams, and we wish to work recovery-oriented to ensure that support and interventions are organized in a meaningful way with a focus on well-being and development with the resident’s voice at the center.

As department heads we expect everyone to approach work with a focus on professionalism, life mastery, self-determination, collaboration and reflection, just as we

expect that we all are tolerant of the mistakes we make along the way. We view mistakes as a healthy part of a learning process, which is why we should use every opportunity to reflect on and learn from the mistakes we make.

This requires a focus on psychological safety in the workplace, which we must always focus on maintaining and developing in solidarity. Psychological safety is a shared responsibility among management, employees and elected representatives, and you must therefore be able to see yourself as taking an active part in maintaining and further developing psychological safety.

We expect everyone to “pull their weight” in the workplace - it is a shared responsibility that we reach our goals - both in terms of the direct work with the core task, but also in collegial collaboration and collaboration with relatives and partners.

We therefore set requirements for both the desire and the ability to collaborate and take responsibility, and although we understand that individuals sometimes have more energy and other times less, we expect that one does not “clock out” and thus abandons the ship to others to steer.

We work from values such as collaboration, integrity, development and equality - values you can expect to encounter in collaboration with colleagues and management, and we expect that you can see yourself in these same values in collaboration with us and with the residents.

About the positions and monof disciplinary expectations

In daily life, the majority of the work consists of supporting residents in the facility and ensuring well-being and development. Work is based on the resident’s §141 action plan with goals, sub-goals and actions to ensure that we achieve the results set. The written work must be prioritized as an equally important part of the work as the time spent with the residents.

We also focus on giving you the opportunity to use and develop your discipline-specific competencies in daily work.

Work is based on SMART goals, and we continuously work to ensure resident involvement in goal formulation so that we ensure the resident’s voice is heard and forms the basis for our work.

There is a wide variation in the level of support needed by residents, which naturally means that there is variation in what your day will consist of. The extent of support ranges broadly, and you can expect everything from personal care to cognitive development conversations.

The majority of residents participate in activity or employment offers on weekdays, but they need support with ordinary daily tasks when they come home. At the same time, there may be support for participation in activities in and outside the house, support for personal care, training of skills, exercise, and close and social contact.

Regardless of professional group, all employees participate in the daily tasks, activities and care with residents as well as in the practical work in the house.

All social- and health care assistants are responsible for ensuring medication administration and correct handling, updates in FMK, training for unauthorized colleagues in specific health tasks, correct handling of UTH and other health-related tasks in the house. It is expected that SSA’s at Bilstrupvej familiarize themselves with the health-care documentation system, make updates regarding nursing-related areas, etc.

Social- and health care assistants are expected to contribute to health-promoting approaches for each resident.

About the working hours

Working hours vary between day, evening and weekend work. Since the majority of residents are in daytime activity programs on weekdays, there are a majority of shifts in the evening hours.

Shifts can start at 6:00 at the earliest and end at 22:00 at the latest.

Shifts are up to 12 hours, but this varies a lot.

We work from work schedules that are comparable, which means that we try to distribute shifts evenly among colleagues. There may be differences from house to house in meeting times based on the needs of the individual house.

You can expect on average 1 day shift and 3 evening shifts per week and to work every 3rd weekend when employed full-time.
