About the job

Are you a trained social- and healthcare assistant with solid professional competence and an interest in complex and acute citizen journeys? Are you motivated by delivering high quality, bringing your licensed competencies into play and contributing to a newly established department? Then you might be the person we are looking for to join our department Temporary Municipal Stay in the City of Copenhagen.

We are looking for social- and healthcare assistants for day, evening and night shifts.

About us

With us you will become part of a new team where engagement is highly valued. We set high professional requirements because we know that quality is contagious and fosters professional development among colleagues. At the same time, we have a strong focus on our shared working environment, where we take care of each other, where there is room for humor in everyday life, and together we shall create a safe and supportive community.

All of this to ensure the best possible framework for the citizens while they are with us. You will receive an introduction to the tasks at our department at Hørgården on Amager during the first four weeks, after which your fixed base will be in our newly established framework in Emdrup.

Are you curious about Temporary Municipal Stay?

Then drop by for an informal drop-in chat with us in Emdrup. You do not need to have sent your application first – you can just come by, meet the centre leader Emil Skatting Weyhe, see where we belong, and have a chat about the job and daily life with us. In short: Stop by and feel whether we are right for you – completely non-committal. You can read more about the concept below.

The newly established department

At Temporary Municipal Stay in Emdrup we expect a high citizen flow with an average of about seven-eight new citizens per week. The citizens typically stay with us for up to 28 days and are primarily 65+ years old, who are either awaiting a permanent nursing home or have a need for a special, time-limited intervention and assessment.

The citizen journeys range from stable to acute and complex, which places high demands on your SSA professional skills, your clinical eye and your ability to collaborate. You will work closely with nurses, regional authorities, general practitioners, relatives and internal and external partners in the municipality including therapists. The team is interdisciplinary and consists of nurses, social- and healthcare assistants, SSA students, nursing students as well as kitchen and cleaning staff.

Who are you?

We are looking for you who

  • are a trained social- and healthcare assistant and confident with the caregiving tasks
  • focus on the citizens' needs and can handle the important collaboration with relatives
  • have strong communication and collaboration skills in a close, interdisciplinary environment
  • are keen to strengthen quality, share your knowledge and contribute to professional development
  • can work in a structured manner, maintain overview and take responsibility for your own tasks in a changing daily life
  • have experience with CURA and systematic, professional documentation

Most of all, we are looking for someone who is passionate about the close and complex citizen journey, who is confident in your professional identity as a social- and healthcare assistant, who is curious, dares to ask questions, and can act independently. We do not expect you to know it all from the start, but we do expect you to be willing to learn and to speak up when you are in doubt.

Employment terms

The positions are, as a rule, full-time roles of 37 hours per week with employment from December 1, 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter.

You will be employed under the applicable collective agreement, and your salary will be negotiated based on experience and qualifications. We will obtain a criminal record certificate and take references in connection with the hires.

If you have previously been employed by the City of Copenhagen, also applies

If you are considered for a municipal unit, we will check whether you have been dismissed or discharged from the municipality within the last three years and share relevant information with the hiring leader. This may also include information about criminal conduct that led to termination or expulsion from the City of Copenhagen, information about substance abuse such as a positive alcohol test, or information about medical history that may be significant for a new employment with the municipality. This does not apply to employment at independent nursing homes. Read more about reference checks here.
