About the education Social and Health Helper Trainee

In the education as a social and health helper you learn to perform care, support and practical assistance based on good relationships and rehabilitation. You will work with guidance and communication and have close cooperation with the citizens who need your help. As you develop, you will gradually take on more and more autonomous tasks.

The education lasts 14 months and alternates between school and internship. We have made arrangements for both training placements in your education path, so you do not have to find these places yourself.

EUV 1

If you are over 25 years old and have a minimum of 2 years of work experience from nursing homes/home care, you can take a shortened education to become a social and health helper.

EUV2

For health professionals who are approved by the Danish Agency for Education and Science (doctors, nurses, midwives and dentists), and who have a certificate of candidacy from SOSU-Fyn for “on the road to skilled – SSA”

Grundforløbet lasts 20 weeks depending on your educational background and is the entry to the main program, whether you choose SSH or SSA. Here you gain fundamental knowledge including communication, rehabilitation and health. If you have previously completed a gymnasium education, this may mean you get credit for part of Grundforløbet. Your situation will be assessed individually.

SSA EUX Welfare is your opportunity to obtain both a student exam and an SSA education in the same program - you thereby get two educations in one. The goals are the same as an ordinary SSA education, but at the same time you have gymnasium subjects. It gives you an ambitious, exciting and varied education, which provides access to many exciting future jobs and further education. The education lasts 9 months longer.

Social and Health Assistant Trainee

As a social and health assistant trainee you are trained to carry out nursing-related assessments, administer medications, plan and perform rehabilitative actions in close collaboration with other professional partners. At the same time, care, relationship work and communication with the citizen and relatives are also a large part of the education. You will also work with welfare technology and various digital solutions.

The education lasts after Grundforløbet 2 years, 9 months and 3 weeks and alternates between school and on-the-job training. In some cases the education can be shortened e.g. if you have completed the social and health helper education. You are guaranteed all training placements during your education, in the elderly sector as well as in psychiatry and in a hospital department.

SSA DigiTech

Social and health assistant trainee on the DigiTech line is an education with a special focus on welfare technology and the value technology can create for citizens.

As a DigiTech trainee you will learn the same theory and practice as the other social and health assistant trainees, but in addition you can look forward to learning a lot about technology and digitization in the welfare sector. So you will get a social and health assistant education with a digital angle.

Students

If you have a student exam, your Grundforløb will be shortened.

Salary and employment terms Salary and employment terms follow the applicable collective agreement between KL and the negotiating organization.

Working hours are 37 hours per week. You should expect some shifting hours and home preparation in both school and practice to a lesser extent.

The training places are distributed across the entire Assens Municipality. You must be able to commute and be ready at the start of working hours, which are often 7:00, and you must be able to get around by bicycle.

You will be asked to submit a criminal record before employment.

Adult trainee salary: If you are over 25 and meet the criteria, you can apply for adult trainee pay . The application form must be attached to the application.

Adult apprentice pay: If you are over 25, you should contact the Job Center in your hometown to check whether you are entitled to adult apprentice pay.
