About the job

Will you make a difference for people in vulnerable life situations?

We are seeking an engaged employee for social-pedagogical support under the Social Services Act § 85 at Skovvang in Holstebro.

Do you have a strong social-work profile, can you work independently, and are you motivated by supporting people in complex life situations? Do you thrive with a daily life where relationships, professionalism and the ability to stay calm are decisive?

Then you may be the person we are looking for for our team, where we work with social-pedagogical support in citizens' own homes.

We are seeking an employee who meets the citizens with respect, patience and professional curiosity – also when motivation is low, and small advances require special effort.

Who are you?

We imagine that you have a relevant social- or health-professional education. You may also have other relevant competencies and experiences, including life experience.

Experience with psychiatry, dual diagnoses, substance abuse issues and social-pedagogical support will be an advantage.

The most important is that you want and can work with a complex target group and can translate your professional knowledge into a respectful, structured and targeted effort.

About the job

You will become part of a total team of 15 employees, of whom three have the primary responsibility for the social-pedagogical efforts in six residences at Skovvang, where you together ensure continuity and coherence in the support to the citizens.

Our target group has complex support needs and may among other things have mental disorders, dual diagnoses and active substance misuse.

The work takes place in the citizens' own homes and local environments. We support the citizens in creating structure in daily life, developing or maintaining their skills and achieving the greatest possible independence.

The intervention takes its starting point in the individual citizen's resources, needs and wishes. We work perseveringly, flexibly and relationship-oriented, because we know that development does not always occur in a straight line.

We offer ongoing supervision and opportunities for shared reflection and development of our professional practice.

Your tasks

You will among other things have to

  • Provide social-pedagogical support in citizens' own homes under the Social Services Act § 85.
  • Support citizens in ADL training, including cleaning, shopping, cooking and daily structure.
  • Work in an outreach and motivating way with citizens who have difficulty managing or initiating daily activities.
  • Support citizens in keeping appointments, for example medication delivery, doctor visits and meetings in psychiatry.
  • Handle contact-person duties and create continuity in the collaboration.
  • Help with practical and administrative tasks, including finances, mail and contact with authorities.
  • Collaborate with psychiatry, treatment systems and other relevant partners.
  • Work with relationship-building, conflict management and prevention of critical situations.
  • Document the intervention and follow up on citizens' goals and development.
  • Contribute to professional sparring and development of our collective practice.

An important part of the job is being able to see opportunities when the citizen itself finds it difficult, and to support without taking over. We work to strengthen the citizen's own competencies and possibilities to master their own life.

You can read more about our professional approaches here our professional approaches and methods . We do not expect you to know them all in full from the start, but that you are willing to learn them.

We are looking for you who can stand strong in a complex daily life

Working with our target group places demands on both your professionalism and personal resilience. You must be able to establish contact and motivation, also when the citizen is affected by mental distress, substance abuse or lack of energy.

Situations of frustration, resistance and unpredictable behavior can arise. Therefore it is important that you can stay calm, act professionally and make professional judgments – even when the situation is stressed.

We imagine that you

  • Can work independently, structure your work day and prioritize your tasks.
  • Are proactive, persistent and good at establishing contact.
  • Can motivate without pressuring and support without taking over.
  • Are mentally robust and can maintain an overview in tense situations.
  • Can set clear and respectful boundaries with an appreciative approach.
  • Understand how mental disorders, dual diagnoses and substance use can affect citizens' motivation and behavior.
  • Can reflect on your own practice and are open to professional sparring.
  • Are flexible and can adapt the intervention to the citizen's current needs.
  • Have good collaboration skills and contribute positively to the professional community.
  • Can express yourself in writing and work systematically with documentation.
  • Have a valid driving license of category B and the possibility to use your own car for work if there is no company car available.

We emphasize that you can accommodate that progress is sometimes small, and that a good relationship is often a prerequisite for development.

We offer

  • A meaningful and varied daily life where you can make a concrete difference.
  • A fixed team of three employees with a focus on continuity and collaboration.
  • A larger professional community with the possibility for sparring and knowledge sharing.
  • Independent work with the possibility to plan your efforts within the professional framework.
  • Ongoing supervision and opportunities for professional reflection.
  • Opportunity to develop your social-work competencies and work with relevant methods.
