About the job

As one of our skilled Youth Advisors goes on maternity leave, we are seeking a maternity cover from January 4, 2027, who, like us, is passionate about working with socially vulnerable young people and their families. The target group is young people aged 15-17 and young people who have been granted Ungestøtte from ages 18 to 23. The youths may have social and personal challenges including mental vulnerability, substance abuse issues, diagnoses, family problems, or be involved in crime/criminal activity.

We are looking for you who value the above and are an energetic team player who can also work independently.

Your tasks

Together with your colleagues, you share responsibility for a case load of about 30 cases consisting of youths in the target group who either seek support themselves or whom we become aware of through a notification. In handling the cases, you must clarify the young person’s and family’s resources and challenges, and assess whether the youth falls within the target group for support such as a contact person, family treatment, counseling and guidance programs, or financial support.

The aim of the support is that the young person, in time, attains a meaningful adult life with education, employment, and a harmonious social life.

We work based on the youths’ motivation to strengthen their own competencies and achieve change in their own lives, as we believe this is the path to more permanent well-being.

What we expect from you

You will conduct conversations, network meetings, and work in close collaboration with many different actors such as psychiatry, our family department, school offers, and educational guidance. You must be able to build trust and collaboration with the youth and parents, and ensure that the youth feels highly involved in their own case. You must be able to listen to and motivate the youth so that the appropriate form of support is initiated and the youth experiences a positive development.

  • You are educated as a social worker, have in-depth knowledge of the Children’s Act and experience as an authority advisor for the target group
  • You are good at building a relationship with the youth and sharp at assessing the interventions
  • You are good at collaborating in the team and across teams
  • You are thorough and skilled in writing
  • You thrive with a high activity level in a work environment characterized by collaboration across many professional areas

We offer

  • A Youth Unit with many skilled colleagues, where we work in a solutions-focused manner with the youth in focus
  • A well-structured introductory program, where you will be assigned a fixed colleague as mentor in your start-up period.
  • A work environment characterized by high engagement and professionalism. We are passionate about our work and strive to provide the best possible support to the young
  • A workplace where you have many of your closest collaborators right at hand
  • A workplace where we prioritize a good working environment highly and where well-being is at the forefront

You will become part of the Youth Unit

In the Youth Unit in Gladsaxe Municipality, we are about 60 employees, located under Citizens’ Services, Youth and Employment (BYE) in Gladsaxe.

We have high expectations of one another and there is room to breathe and room for laughter. You will become part of a workplace with a strong focus on developing a good working environment. You will have your base in an open office landscape with flexible workstations. We are a workplace characterized by a culture where we are welcoming, positive, and helpful.

In the Youth Unit, we operate with a particular focus on creating coherent interventions across teams, departments, and administrations. We do this based on a belief that by leveraging our different professions and creating continuity in the efforts, we create positive development together with the young person.

In the team, we are a total of 6 Youth Advisors, 1 Professional Coordinator, and 4 internal contact persons.

We actively involve each other, have openness in cases, and consult daily to create consistency and learning. We take pride in delivering high quality and supporting the young people as best and as quickly as possible. To strengthen the involvement of the youths, their families, and networks in the case process, we work with Coordinated Citizen Pathways and we use the FIT feedback method.

We look forward to reading your application.
