Would you like to contribute to lifting the pedagogical quality and create a unified house with a common direction?

We are seeking an experienced deputy head who wants to be close to children, staff and the pedagogical practice. It is a developing position where you will have responsibility and join a management team that together will set the direction for the house's continued development.

We work to create everyday life with clear direction, good organization and a strong work community. You will become an important partner to the head of the house and you will help to bring development into practice, close to everyday life and the pedagogical work in the rooms.

A smaller house in development

The nursery is centrally located in old Kastrup close to the beach, harbor, Den Blå Planet and Kastrup Metro. We currently have 40–45 children aged 0–3 years spread over four rooms, good common areas and a large and varied outdoor play area. The local environment provides good opportunities for trips to, among other things, the beach, the harbor, the library and Den Blå Planet.

The nursery has two departments. The work of making the departments function as one unified house – physically, organizationally and pedagogically – is well underway. The staff work both in the individual rooms and across the house, and there are good experiences and various professional competencies to build on.

Together with the head and the staff, you will help create a coherent everyday life across the house.

Your task – close to practice

Care is a fundamental part of the pedagogical work in a nursery. The youngest children need presence and accessible adults who see their needs, create security and help them into good play relationships and children’s communities.

You must be close to the pedagogical work and have an eye for

• how good care- and relationship work looks in everyday life
• whether everyday organization creates safe and recognizable frames for the children

It applies throughout the child's day – at drop-off, in play, during meals, at bedtime and in the many everyday transitions.

Together with the head and the staff, you must be able to shine a light on what works and what needs to develop, so that joint decisions are translated into real differences in the children's everyday lives.

The deputy we are looking for

You have an educational degree, relevant experience and a strong pedagogical professionalism. You have knowledge of the 0–3-year-old area and can translate your knowledge into something that children and staff notice in everyday life.

You must be able to

• set requirements for quality and give clear and constructive feedback
• spot the strengths of the staff and support their development
• listen and make necessary decisions, even when there are different opinions
• create overview and follow up and support the head
• support a strong work community and collaboration across the house

We do not expect that you have all the answers from day one. We expect you to be curious about the house and want to take responsibility for development together with the head and the staff.

Salary and terms of employment

The position is expected to be filled by 1 December 2026.

Salary and terms of employment are set according to the applicable collective agreement.
