As our assistant manager in Section Ørkild has sought new challenges, we can now offer this exciting position.

In the elderly care area of Svendborg Municipality we prioritise good leadership, therefore the section management consists of a sectional leader and an assistant leader.

Together you are responsible for ensuring that the section works according to Svendborg Municipality's values:

• Holistic approach to task solving
• Residents at the center
• Learning and development
• Wellbeing

The assistant leader supports the sectional leader in the operation of the section and handles delegated leadership tasks. That is, you share responsibility for implementing new legislation, strategies and other initiatives in the section.

In addition, you will have a number of areas of responsibility, for example

• duty scheduling and vacation planning
• visitation planning, including support for the fixed teams in their planning of the day’s tasks
• sick leave conversations for shorter sickness absence
• administrative tasks related to onboarding of new employees and trainees
• planning of trainee programs in collaboration with the training supervisor
• support the daily operations, use of key personnel, audits, documentation and UTH
• linking on various projects.

About you

You are strong on relational skills, quickly gain followership and are passionate about professional collaboration and person-centred care.

You see opportunities, naturally take on the leadership role, show responsibility and ownership.

You are a role model and a team player, and you have no doubt that a workplace with attractive professional communities provides the best professional and career pathways for citizens.

You have a relevant health-professional education, preferably as a social and health care assistant or nurse, and a strong understanding of how we work to ensure the right competencies for the tasks in the section.

You possess, or wish to develop, leadership competences such as organisational understanding, self-awareness, facilitation, reflection and conflict management.

You work in a structured way and take pride in delivering a professional and high-quality result.

You have a flair for IT, an understanding of resource management, budget follow-up and collective agreements.

You understand working in a politically governed organisation.

Salary and employment

Starting 01.12.2026 or after agreement.

• 1st interview expected to be held on 23.10.2026.
• 2nd interview expected to be held on 27.10.2026.
• For the 2nd interview there will be a case.

Salary and employment terms according to the current collective agreement, where the base salary is equivalent to approximately DKK 42,000 per month before pension, with the possibility to negotiate a qualification-based supplement.
