About the job Dagcenter Sjælsø is a designated day service for home-dwelling citizens who need support to participate in social interaction, meaningful activities and maintenance training.

With us, the core task is central. We work to ensure that each day guest experiences an active, safe and meaningful day based on their own resources, interests, wishes and needs.

As an employee you become an important part of the day guests’ everyday life. You, together with your colleagues, will help plan, develop and carry out activities, both individually and in groups. It can be anything from movement and training to creative activities, outings, music, games, conversations and activities that stimulate cognitively and socially.

The work also involves to a lesser extent support for personal care, including help with toilet visits for those day guests who need it. We emphasise that the help is based on the individual’s resources and provided with respect for self-determination and dignity.

We believe that meaningful activities are not necessarily the same for everyone. Therefore you must have an eye for the person in front of you and be able to adapt activities and social time to the individual’s physical and cognitive functional level.

You will become part of a multidisciplinary environment where we among other things work with:

• rehabilitative and activating interventions
• meaningful activities and social communities
• cognitive stimulation and maintenance training
• support for personal care according to the individual day guest’s needs
• dementia and cognitive challenges
• goal-setting conversations with day guests
• observation of changes in day guests’ needs and functional level
• documentation in KMD Nexus
• collaboration with relatives and relevant partners
• collaboration across the day center and Sjælsø Nursing Home

The workday can be changeable, and we see that as part of the charm. It requires that you can both plan and at the same time be ready to alter the plan when day guests’ needs call for something else.

About Dagcenter Sjælsø Dagcenter Sjælsø is part of the environment around Sjælsø Nursing Home in Birkerød.

We receive up to 23 day guests on weekdays, and our ambition is to create a day service where the individual feels seen, valued and as part of a community.

We work closely together and use each other’s different professional skills. We also aim to build a bridge between the day center and the nursing home and create opportunities for joint activities and communities.

Employment terms The position is 30 hours per week, spread over five weekdays.

If you want to work more than 30 hours per week, there is an option for the extra hours to be scheduled as shifts at Sjælsø Nursing Home.

Salary and terms of employment are according to the applicable collective agreement.

Employment is conditional on a satisfactory criminal record check.
