About the job

Juliane Marie Centre

An attending physician is sought as of 1 October 2027 or as soon thereafter for the Department of Growth and Reproduction. We are looking for a pediatrician with an interest in pediatric endocrinology and documented research experience in the field (PhD degree or dissertation). The Department of Growth and Reproduction has an extensive outpatient function with more than 13,000 patient visits annually.

The department also houses several DANAK-accredited specialty laboratories for hormone measurements, molecular genetic investigations, histological assessment of gonads, assessment of semen samples, and a sperm bank.

The department handles highly specialized clinical functions within pediatric endocrinology and medical andrology, and thus treats children, adolescents and adults with rare endocrine disorders, growth and puberty disorders, sex chromosome variations (e.g. patients with Klinefelter and Turner syndrome), transgender youths, as well as men with andrological diseases such as male infertility, testosterone deficiency, adrenogenital syndrome and gynecomastia. The Department of Growth and Reproduction is the only “Andrology Training Centre” in Denmark certified by the European Academy of Andrology (EAA).

The position is non-shift work. The attending physician shall provide outpatient clinical function within the pediatric endocrinology area including hereditary metabolic bone diseases and disorders of calcium- and phosphate metabolism in children and adolescents.

It is also expected that the department physician actively contributes to the further development of the highly specialized clinical functions, supervision of younger colleagues, undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, and the department’s international profiling. Particular emphasis will be placed on demonstrated sustained research activity, as well as continued active research engagement, especially within pediatric endocrinology and relevant to the clinical responsibilities described above.

It is expected that the applicant is qualified to supervise younger researchers at undergraduate and postgraduate levels and can join an interdisciplinary senior research team; documented academic qualifications corresponding to assistant professor or associate professor level would be advantageous. The application should be structured around the seven physician roles. Documentation of formal and professional competencies should be attached as appendices.

If you would like further information, you are welcome to contact Chief Physician, Professor Anders Juul, at telephone 35 45 50 85, or [email protected].

Salary and employment terms in accordance with the joint academic agreement with the associated organizational agreement for specialists.

Application deadline: 18 November 2026 at 12:00.
