About the job

Are you ready to help secure a stable, safe and modern railway infrastructure?

In the role you will have the title of geographical subject-matter expert and handle central tasks in operation, maintenance and development of Banedanmark's catenary system. You monitor the condition of the installations, plan and follow up on maintenance tasks and contribute your expertise to new projects.

We are recruiting three geographical subject-matter specialists for the Traction/Overhead Line team in Maintenance. One position covers the S-train overhead line system. The second covers the sections between Fredericia, Vejle and Aarhus, as well as two short overhead lines near Holstebro and Skjern (battery train). The third covers the route from Aarhus Station to Aalborg Station. You will be part of a team of around 11 colleagues, where professional sparring, collaboration and a good collegial environment are a natural part of everyday life.

What you can expect

You will have a varied day-to-day with a mix of office work, meetings and field tasks. We invest in your professional development and will create an individual competence development plan with you.

You do not need to know everything from the start. We provide training, practical experience, relevant courses and ongoing professional sparring so you are equipped for the role.

You follow the installation from maintenance to development

As a geographical subject-matter specialist you will, among other things, be responsible for:

  • planning and following up on the maintenance of the catenary system
  • follow up on standard work orders in SAP and collaborate with maintenance managers and suppliers
  • identify needs for condition and renewal tasks based on the condition of the installations
  • contribute technical input to new projects and ensure a good transition from project to operations
  • share your knowledge through technical sparring and teaching.

You collaborate broadly within Banedanmark and use your technical understanding to translate data, analyses and observations from the installation into concrete professional assessments and recommendations.

We work, for example, with laser scanning, image recognition and other digital measurement methods. You do not need to be a data analyst yourself, but you should be able to assess what the results mean for the concrete installation.

A versatile job with professional responsibility for the overhead line system

As a geographical subject-matter specialist you will play a central role in planning and following up on maintenance of the overhead line systems.

You will collaborate for example with the maintenance manager, suppliers and colleagues across Banedanmark. You follow up on standard work orders in SAP and contribute to maintenance tasks being planned and carried out on a professional and technically correct basis. You also ensure that condition and renewal tasks are identified and registered based on the condition and needs of the installations.

You will also be continuously involved in new projects, where you contribute technical input, participate in reviews of the installation and help ensure a good handover from project to operations.

The role therefore requires both technical understanding, an overview and the ability to collaborate across disciplines.

Your professional background

There are several paths into the position. We emphasise your overall competencies and your motivation to develop. You may have, for example:

  • a relevant vocational education and journeyman's certificate with experience from maintenance, modification or construction of catenary systems
  • a technical higher education, e.g., as a mechanical engineer, combined with relevant experience
  • an electrical-technical background as an electrician, electrical installer or technician with relevant experience

If you have already completed Banedanmark's courses KØK 1 and KØK 2, that is an advantage but not a requirement for employment. If you have the right professional background, we will help you build the necessary installation-specific knowledge and practical experience. Your competency development can include, among others, the KØK 1 and 2 courses, training, practical field tasks and introduction to relevant rules, standards and procedures.

We expect that you

  • have technical understanding and can translate it into practical solutions
  • take responsibility and have a desire to learn and develop
  • thrive with both practical, administrative and coordinating tasks.

You must be able to obtain the necessary medical clearance and have a category B driver's license.

Salary and employment terms

There will be the possibility of service location in Copenhagen, Otto Busses Vej or in Ringsted on Godsbanevej for the S-train GFS.

For the areas in Jutland it will be in Middelfart, Herning or Aarhus. There is an expectation that you travel to Middelfart once a week.

You will be employed under the applicable collective agreement, with a salary of 45,000-50,000 including pension. Depending on your qualifications and skills, there is a possibility of negotiating a supplement. In addition to the total salary there will be an employer-financed pension scheme, where the pension rate will follow the relevant collective agreement.
