About the job

Would you like to be part of a professionally strong team where relationships, collaboration and residents' perspectives are at the center?

After many years of dedicated and skilled work, one of our valued colleagues is retiring. Therefore SPUC is looking for a clear, competent and motivated social pedagogue for a 34-hour position at one of our 24-hour facilities.

You will become part of an experienced team with high professional standards and colleagues who have worked together for many years. We place emphasis on professional reflection, good collaboration skills, strong collegiality and a shared responsibility to create the best possible framework for the residents' lives.

We work as a team around the clock, full and partial shifts. We do this because we believe that continuity and time together are of great importance for the residents. The longer shifts allow for presence, coherence and fewer changes in relationships. The working hours are mainly arranged in periods of 13 and 24 hours, including sleeping on-call at night, as well as work every other weekend.

In the coming years, we will implement LA2U as a common method. Therefore we expect you to be curious about LA2U and interested in the residents' inside perspective – and to want to contribute to developing our joint professional practice.

Can you say YES to the following?

  • You are a professionally grounded pedagogist and have your core values firmly anchored in your professional work.
  • You are capable of collaboration and view collaboration as an important professional competence.
  • You have knowledge of – or interest in – working with adults with intellectual disabilities.
  • You are curious about LA2U and want to actively contribute to the development of our shared professional practice.
  • You are concerned with the residents' inside perspective and with letting their wishes, experiences and resources guide the pedagogical efforts.
  • You are willing to initiate and start pedagogical activities based on the residents' wishes, interests, resources and needs.
  • You are stable and reliable in your attendance and see continuity as an important prerequisite for the residents' security and for good collaboration.
  • You have good IT skills and see documentation as a natural and important part of the pedagogical work.
  • You are keen to share knowledge, professional reflections, challenges and successes with your colleagues.
  • You thrive with a work arrangement where you work up to 13 and 24 hours at a time with on-call sleeping at night and every other weekend.

We offer

  • A workplace with a strong shared value base.
  • A workplace where we show respect for each resident and for each other in both words and actions.
  • A professional environment where we base our work on the residents' resources and use the residents' inside perspective as a compass for our professional actions.
  • A workplace where good communication and strong relationships between residents, staff and management are prioritized highly.
  • A work community where we pull together, and where everyone participates in the various tasks. This includes, among other things, shift planning, house traditions, counseling and guidance as well as personal care and practical support in the residents' daily lives.
  • External supervision and opportunities for competency development.

Here live 10 adults with intellectual disabilities who need social-pedagogical support, accommodation, help and guidance in many aspects of life.

Our task is to support each resident in living as independent, meaningful and good a life as possible – with respect for each individual's wishes, resources and perspective.
