SSA in night shift with a 7/7 arrangement at Bakkegården – help create a sense of security, also at night

We are seeking a social and health care assistant for night shifts at Bakkegården in Gladsaxe Municipality. You should be enthusiastic about working with people with dementia and applying your health professional expertise in practice.

As a night shift, you will provide care and support for the residents. You must be able to observe changes in their physical and mental state, make professional assessments and act when needed. At the same time you should have an eye for each resident's habits, circadian rhythm and need for rest.

About Bakkegården – a place where life is worth living

Bakkegården is a dementia care center with 107 apartments spread across seven living communities. We work to ensure residents have a home with room for community, quality of life and a meaningful everyday life.

Our approach is based on person-centered care inspired by Tom Kitwood and the Eden Alternative. We start from the individual’s life story, habits, desires and needs – also at night, where care must be adapted to the individual.

Nature, animals and the community are a natural part of life at Bakkegården. Here there are, among other things, sheep, dogs, cats, birds and fish, and children and young people from the local area visit us regularly.

We develop together and learn from each other. The quality of health care is important, and it must go hand in hand with respect for the residents and their home.

Your role as night shift

You must be able to work independently, prioritize the tasks and maintain an overview. It is important that you can assess when you should act and when you should involve relevant collaborators.

You will join the night shift as a social and health care assistant. In case of vacation or other absence of the responsible SSA, you will take over the responsible function.

Your tasks will include

• provide care and support based on residents' individual needs
• observe changes in residents' physical and mental state and respond relevantly and promptly
• make professional assessments and handle acute situations within your own competencies and applicable instructions
• document relevant information in Nexus and relay information so there is continuity between shifts
• work systematically with patient safety, medication management and prevention of, among other things, falls, infections and somatic disease
• respect each resident's circadian rhythm and habits and contribute to a calm night
• collaborate with colleagues and other professional groups

We are looking for you who …

• are trained as a social- and health care assistant
• work independently and in a structured way and take responsibility for your professional assessments
• know your competencies and know when to seek sparring or help
• meet residents with dementia with respect and interest in the individual
• contribute to good collaboration and a proper tone during the night shift

Experience from the dementia field and knowledge of person-centered care and the Eden Alternative is an advantage but not a requirement.

About the position

The position is generally 37 hours per week in night shifts on a 7/7 rotation, where you work seven nights followed by seven days off. You work in odd weeks. The remaining hours up to 37 per week will be scheduled in day or evening shifts by agreement.

If you wish to work fewer hours per week, we are open to a dialogue about this.

Expected start date

No later than January 1, 2027.

Salary and employment terms

According to the applicable collective agreement and the principles of Ny Løn.
