Staff member for the Solbakkevej Residential Facility

Would you like to be a meaningful support for adults with intellectual disabilities and help make their home at the group home a safe place with joy and well-being?

We are seeking a new colleague in Botilbuddet Solbakkevej, which has two houses. Your primary workplace will be in House H. In House H you will become an important support for 8 adults over 18 with an intellectual disability and autism spectrum disorder, where some have a psychiatric overlay.

The residents have needs for support regarding communication, self-care, practical tasks and in social relationships.

Well-being through relationships

You work relationship-building with the residents, so they thrive and have a high degree of self- and co-determination. You work resource-focused and from an appreciative approach.

You collaborate across disciplines with your colleagues, who have various social work backgrounds and provide residents with structure, safety and care. We work from a guiding principle called “all with the citizen.” This means that we involve the residents as much as possible in the decisions and activities that concern their own lives.

You will also collaborate closely with guardians and relatives, day care, therapists and case workers to ensure a holistic approach.

It is important that the resident is at the center and has influence on their own life. Therefore, it is the individual’s needs for well-being and development that form the basis for how you plan the work in collaboration.

Therefore you must also be investigative and curious in your approach to meeting the residents to understand each individual’s needs, so they can thrive and develop as well as possible.

Flexibility in your work plan: The position is 37 hours in day, evening shifts and every 3rd weekend.

We want a colleague who

• Is educated as a pedagogist, occupational therapist, nurse, social and health care assistant or has a similar social science education
• Is clear in their communication – both verbal and nonverbal
• Is good at reading other people and their needs
• Has good collaboration skills and sees the value of interdisciplinary solutions
• Can work independently and show initiative and commitment
• Has a driving license

It is an advantage if you have experience with psychiatry, autism spectrum disorders and medication management, but we also provide thorough training.
