Structural Engineer for Banedanmark's Bridge Projects

Take responsibility for designing some of Denmark's most complex infrastructure projects

You will be responsible for prominent bridge and structural projects and follow them from the initial analyses and ideas to design, tender, and execution.

As a central professional profile you ensure coherence in the technical solutions and lead the projects safely through the entire process in close collaboration with relevant specialist areas.

We are looking for an experienced engineer with solid knowledge of insulation of concrete bridges, repair of concrete damage, and maintenance of existing bridges.

Meet your new department

You will become part of the in-house design team in the Bridges and Constructions section with more than 40 specialized colleagues who share the ambition of developing strong technical solutions.

There is room here to be a specialist, but also to learn from one another. We actively use one another for professional sparring, and we place emphasis on sharing knowledge and helping each other when tasks become complex.

You will therefore have the opportunity to bring your existing experience into play and to develop further.

You will be the technical driving force

As a designing engineer you will be a central professional profile on our bridge renewal projects. You will be responsible for the design of bridges, tunnels and other structural facilities and play a key role in coordinating between advisors, contractors, authorities and internal specialists.

You ensure that the projects hang together technically, in quality and time, while you contribute to the technical decisions that shape the final solutions.

Among other things you will

• design bridges and infrastructure constructions
• ensure coherence between technique, quality, time and other disciplines
• coordinate interfaces between advisors, contractors and internal sections
• contribute to technical analyses and decisions throughout the project lifecycle
• follow the projects from the initial ideas to tender and execution
• give professional sparring to colleagues and partners on technical solutions in bridge and infrastructure projects

We are looking for someone who wants to put their professionalism into play

You have solid experience with designing bridges and constructions and are motivated by translating your expertise into practical solutions. You thrive on both technical deep-dives and cross-disciplinary collaboration, and you can balance details with the overall project view.

You are curious, actively participate in professional discussions and are happy to challenge existing solutions when you see better options. At the same time you readily share your knowledge and contribute to developing your colleagues.

We anticipate that you

• are educated as a structural engineer or structural designer
• have at least 5 years of experience with designing bridges or structures, e.g. at a consultancy, contractor or public client
• have a good technical understanding and translate complex specialties into practical solutions
• have the desire and ability to be a professional sparring partner for less experienced colleagues
• thrive with both design, coordination and collaboration

Salary and terms of employment

You will be employed under the applicable collective agreement between the Ministry of Finance and a number of academic organizations for academics in the state.

You will be placed based on academic seniority and experience as a senior consultant or chief consultant according to the current collective agreement, which you can find here, and the Danish Agency for Employees and Competences' salary overview, which you can find here.

Depending on your qualifications and competences there is a possibility for negotiation of allowances. There will be an employer-financed pension scheme of 18.07%.
